Broome, Fleming, Raynaud,Penda, Kalkbrenner, we can draft a interesting frontcourt player with the 35

Bogoljub Marković would be interesting - could pair well with Bona

Re: Draft Day Shenanigans (IV)
After seeing New Orleans give up a 2026 1st for the #13, I wish Morey would have traded down with them for #7 plus that 2026. I don't love any of the prospects from 3-7 so it didn't matter to me who they got.

Fleming is ranked in the 15-25 range everywhere I look, and has a lot of skills we are looking for. Seems unlikely he lasts five more picks though.

This format for the draft is so F'ing stupid

That assumes that New Orleans was willing to use that pick to move up to 3.
If we feel that there's no significant separation between 3 to 7/8, there's a big chance that other teams have that same feeling. Meaning that it is more valuable to move up from 23 to 13, than from 7 to 3. Especially if they're in love with Queen. Some of us considered him for #3, so in that sense you could argue that they have used that pick to move up from 23 to 3
Nevertheless, it is a hefty price. Certainly given their injury history and that the lack of protections.

I agree, but they traded it to move from 23 to get Queen, who they may have ranked in the top 10. If they didn’t see much difference in the prospects from 3-7, I don’t know if they are offering a ton to move up from 7.
I personally didn’t see much difference in those prospects either, so if we were offered that to move back from 3 to 7, I would have done it in a heartbeat. I wish we did know so I can criticize Morey later, if it doesn’t work out.

I think Morey did get those offers, but felt like it wasn't enough to move away from VJ. It appears he really liked him as a prospect.
You can't say our team didn't get better after last night. Less minutes to Gordon or Reggie Jackson lol

Ace has big, obvious flaws in his game. Otherwise, San Antonio would've been debating between Ace and Harper or people's big boards would have had him consistently at #3 (or again even #2 if he wasn't so flawed).
We'll see how it shakes out, but I'll be rooting for VJ to maximize his potential. At the very least, he seems like he's a prepared for the road ahead and not immature or a headcase like some of our other big time prospects that flamed out.
VJ wasn't my first choice either, but if the Sixers were going to be stuck at #3 he or Kon were probably the most solid picks they could make. Your last comment is a huge reason why - a drama free player with a high floor and huge upside who will come in here and work his ass off to be the best he can be.
I wanted no part of Bailey primarily because of the perception at least that he would have continued the trend of high maintenance head cases that need to grow up as people as much as they grew as players. VJ will fit right in with Maxey as a gym rat and a dog, which is exactly what this group needs.

Fleming, then Kalkbrenner, Markovic, and Penda for me.
I just hope like hell we don't get stuck with Broome, an undersized 5 who can't space the floor or shoot FT's. Tough kid who competes, but he spent his college career beating up on people in the post, which he won't be able to do at this level.

If Fleming is not there, take Markovic.
Or, and this is a wild idea, Morey could make a trade and get both of them.

I think we only have one roster spot left considering we usually go with only 14. Pick #35 will be it.

He said something like “you’ve seen how these teams play where you have multiple guards that it can put the defense in jeopardy”

Fleming remind me of a more developed Paul Reed. I see Naz Reid to him. I know Morey prolly want him but knowing Timberwolves will resign Naz and eventually move Randle, they prolly the him with the first pick tonight
