Value is good, but pick is such a head scratcher. Tell me we have a trade lined up for monk, demar, and Carter asap

I think part of the vision, which I can get behind, is Sabonis is such an unreal facilitator for a Center that Sacramento can sacrifice some ball-handling.
At the same time, teams need ball-handling.

Let's assume that we dont actually sign a pg and we use the MLE on a forward. Whats the vision?
Monk/Carter
Lavine/keon
Demar/Clifford
Keegan/forward
Sabonis/jval
So we just commit to full time small ball with 3 guards? I hate that. It gets even worse if they actually do sign schroder

A ready to play older SG that is long and solid and has shown defensive ability and scoring aptitude?
I see at least two of the current guards in the roster moving. Monk(?) and I consider DDR a guard because size/lack of athleticism.
We just watched two finals teams loaded with long guards who could also defend and rebound.

He will be listed at 6’6’’ and can rebound. He will be a SF/SG not a SG/SF. The issue is the Kings need big wings…been the same issue for a long time.

Ya the more I've watched tape on him, I think he's going to be capable of playing SF in todays NBA. But I agree with your last statement.

Trade value seems fair for both. And I like Nique in a vacuum, but it does seem like some moves are needed. Even just Monk out would work, though. Don’t think it has to be drastic.

Unless Sac manages to balance this group, they got 23 for two seconds… so nice win on value at aleast
Presti doing what Presti does. And he doesn’t need to clearly beat other teams because he’s playing from such a big lead as is he can take shots..
Think Sac fans should like this trade once Monk and Demar are traded.

Re: [Shams] OKC trades 24 (Nique Clifford) to SAC
Like it for both sides. For SAC, good value on 24. The pick they traded will likely land around there if not lower, and it’s 2 years out. Good for OKC kicking the can down the road.
I like Clifford as a player too and think 24 is a good value for him. Can shoot, pass and defend. With a late FRP I don’t care as much about fit, but Nique is versatile enough that it doesn’t seem like a big issue. And SAC is not addressing their big immediate needs in the late first

I don't understand why they didn't focus on Fleming, I think he was ideal for you, although what NOP did seems much worse to me and what the NETS did is incomprehensible. I also didn't like the HORNETS who seem happy with an eternal reconstruction or even the RAPTORS who insist on drafting the same archetype of player over and over again... The BLAZERS, one good and one bad, made a very good trade, dropping a few spots just to draft their projected 4th center in the second round.

I agree lots of head scratchers last night.
Only pass im giving sac is realistically we are starting from scratch. If I view this in the lens of a rebuild I dont hate it. We shouldn't be trying to compete anyways, and we shouldn't be factoring demar, lavine and monk into any long term plans.

Fleming would have been my pick or Saraf (I’m a believer).
NOP was just Dumars being Dumars.
Nets got some really good players. The ball will be popping around the court. I can see the vision.
I’m also Yang Gang so I get the Blazers too.

Assuming we move Demar and Monk, I like the pick. Clifford measured almost identical to Josh Hart at the combine, I don't see any reason he wouldn't be able to play the 3 especially with the way he rebounds and defends. We really just need to clear that logjam at the 2.
Super down for a Monk/PJ swap still and try to get a Demar for Duncan Robinson/Jaquez deal done. Pick up Schroder in FA, maybe Kalkbrenner at 42?
Carter/Schroder
Lavine/Keon/Davis
Keegan/Clifford/Duncan
PJ/Jaquez/Isaac Jones
Sabonis/Val/Kalkbrenner
That's 14 and you can keep the roster spot open for sign Mason Jones as 15th man, I think he's probably deserved that.

is there a point guard that we could get for Derozan? My reason being I would prefer if we can carve out 30 minutes per night for Keon, he had 24 last season but with Keegan Shifting to SF in this move and players deserving of minutes backing everyone up it might be hard to find enough minutes. Zach and Kegan both averaged 34 minutes last season that leaves a total of 28 minutes behind the 2 of them.

I dont see us getting jaquez + duncan for demar. At this point we need to be content with rozier alone, maybe we get some 2nds.
Schroder (24) Carter (24)
Lavine (32) Keon (16)
Keegan (16) Keon (14) Clifford (16)
Washington (30) keegan (18)
Sabonis (34) jval (14)
Rough estimate here. Clifford also probably doesnt get 16 out the gate, where as those mins go to lavine. But id try to keep mins down from where they were last year anyways.

Re: [Shams] OKC trades 24 (Nique Clifford) to SAC
(looking from the outside) I would focus my efforts on getting a forward from Houston, I guess they will have to choose between Smith and Eason, they won't be able to pay both, right? Besides, the Rockets are short on SG, after moving Green, in my opinion they could really use a scorer. There could be something between Monk + (what do the Kings add here?) for JSmith + Holiday.LightTheBeam wrote:longfellow44 wrote:codydaze wrote:

Alternatively, if they are really committed to the youth, I think O.Dieng deserves a look and has no place in OKC.
DDR for Rozier+3 SRP?

Signing Simmons is a good fit, as some of his strengths are the Kings' biggest weaknesses. Size/defense/handlingOGSactownballer wrote:A ready to play older SG that is long and solid and has shown defensive ability and scoring aptitude?
