correction...we traded two late first rounders, Josh Okogie and some seconds for Mark Williams, Nick Richards, and for the privilege of dumping Nurkic's salary.
nurkic was a negative asset and it was the price of doing business.
The sequence of trades is actually really stupid. They traded 3 second round picks for Nick Richards and a second.
Then they traded Nurkic and a 1st for salary filler and another second. You probably could have just traded Nurkic and a first for Nick Richards and save your seconds.
Then they traded 2 more firsts for Mark Williams when you probably could have just worked out a deal of Nurkic and picks for Mark Williams. Now they have 4 Centers and will most likely just let Richards expire to save money or trade him for nothing.
The sequence of events makes no sense if you think about it.
According to Spotrac Nick Richards contract is non-guaranteed - so they could just waive him. It becomes fully guaranteed on 6/29/25.
