I was born and raised in Toronto and I have this opinion.

Just like when Zach Lavine got drafted to Minni and looked upset....Everyone had the same reaction to his draft reaction as well....Zach Lavine was also asked about his reaction which he was obviously not thrilled but in the interview he talked like he was fine....

These guys know the cameras are going to be on them. As far as I know CMB worked out for us once (maybe even twice). If he didn’t want to play here, he most certainly wouldn’t have worked out for us.

Lavines reaction went viral everyone saying he hated being drafted to T-Wolves.....For obvious reasons....

^Same thing happened with CMB....Idk why people are shocked with the fans reaction to his reaction....Even if CMB prefered Suns imo....Doesn't matter he will love Toronto once hes here....Thats all that matters.

This isn't just taking him at his word, though. Watching even originally, it was fairly easy to tell by his body language that his reaction was shock / disbelief, not an unhappy one. And that's ignoring all of his positive comments pre-draft, post-draft, and what Bobby said.

So Raptors fans to make this way bigger of a deal than it needed to be, but the Twitter accounts farming for likes certainly played into it as well.

CMB's stats and physical profile look pretty similar to Kawhi's coming out of San Diego State... just saying.

Kawhi's wingspan is significantly greater.

2" difference in wingspan and CMB is 15lbs heavier coming out of college than KL was.

CMB SB IG Ochai IQ, something like this would definitely happen. I think we had something similar last season with Mogbo and SB on the court without Yak or other filler Cs.

I’ve been saying for a while that Maluach was just a smokescreen. I would have been shocked if they picked him.

As for CMB, I really like the pick but I question his ceiling. If that shot comes around he could return top 3-5 value.

I think what hurt Maluach for the Raps in the end was his hands / lack of feel. Raps like long, but they want their longs to have some playmaking skills and/or feel for the game. Guys like Barnes, Siakam, OG all had it, CMB has it, but Maluach was kinda clunky in this respect.

They probably also believed that CMB was more matchup proof because he has more flexibility from positional standpoint, whereas Maluach is locked into the 5 spot and could be played off the court in certain lineups.

Woke up this morning still pissed off at his reaction after getting drafted.wtf was that? Had a worse reaction than Alonzo Mourning finding out he was coming to the raptors smh.

CMB wasn't even on my top 10, so this stings a lot. Not happy one bit.

Am a little wary of the fit but Masai has a great track record of drafting talent. Will give them the benefit of the doubt.

I do think they went with the safer pick. He is a great defender. He has a great basketball IQ. He is a good facilitator. He has great foot work, agility, touch, and strength around the rim. This is all what they are banking on. I do not expect him to become a decent 3 point shooter and they probably don’t either.

There is obviously a good degree of redundancy with Barnes and Mogbo already here. In the future, I just hope they round out the team better by making the necessary trades to improve our shooting and dribble penetration.
