Well damn.. gonna draft him so Mikal can learn how to draw FTs.

I'm hoping whoever they select isn't a euro stash pick.

Other than the 50th pick, these are the other 2nd round picks we can trade

That too :D . However, the one bright spot is without Thib's aversion to playing rookies, the pick may actually get some playing time.

What if they don't? How cool would that be?

You'd be surprised how many of the Knicks' 2nd round picks in the last 10 years have actually turned out to be good players

They draft decently in this FO but of course everyone still complains about the misses more

I think Mikal not shooting free throws has to do with him thinking he's going to get injured if he attacks the rim and it's going to end his active game streak.

I'm actually curious if the Nets will have the patience to possibly follow the OKC model. Jordi Fernandez seems like a good developmental coach. OKC brings in 3-5 new young guys every year and just hitting on one of them whether they are a star or a role player helped to build out a quality roster. I'm really hoping the Knicks take more of this approach going forward now that Thibs is gone.

You can acquire the Wrights and Paynes of the world at any time during the season at limited cost but they provide limited upside. I'd rather have a younger back end of the bench that can develop slowly with hopefully one of them breaking out as a rotational player.

As he fights through screens 40mpg? I don't know about that. His FTA have plummeted from 3.9 in BKN to 1.4 as a Knick. Go figure. He was at 6.6 in PHX.

Maybe I should do some scouting of some 2nd rounders today but I feel like the Knicks are just going to waste my time and trade the pick.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

We will have 10 players under contract and 10mil under the apron to spend on FA. I think they may need a 2rp salary to help stay under the apron. I hope that's the thinking at least. We can't keep skipping drafts under the new CBA. Cheap cost controlled talent is a must these days!. We ha e to keep trying to find that through the draft. It's part of the reason Thibs was fired. No plan for development of the young players AT ALL.

Fighting through screens is different compared to every shot he takes with all of the attention being on him and every shot is fade-away from the free throw line.

You can also add that he's trying not to get injured before his next long-term contract.

I think in order to free up enough to use the full TPMLE I think they have to roster another second round pick cap hold. So I think they will make some kind of pick in the 2nd round.

You can add that. I won't. I think parking him in the corner all night is part of the problem. Knicks don't get calls is another. Taking the money shot as opposed to crashing through contact is a smart player. His mid-range is butter. Again, he has to save that energy to crash through more screens and play more minutes and run more miles than ANYONE in the NBA. Thibs was a problem.

But, your not crazy for thinking that either. We are getting off topic though.

Of course he “has some fans” in the organization. Sam Rose is his agent.

I want the Knicks to trade up for him. He’s gonna be good

We have done a lot of business with the Hornets over the years. Also with them trading Mark Williams to the Suns, Huk might look like a real good cost controlled replacement.
