Do you need salary relief? If not, the Neys can easily offer some combo of 2 2nds, including one being #36. I'd hope Marks would target Fleming or maybe Raynaud, but he seems to be going very young with his picks.

Wolves should just draft him

Does anyone want him enough to give up a protected first ?

Right, protections would be critical, because I think most teams would want to protect against the upside of a first.

Who has those “worst of these four teams” first rounders?

Otherwise, I imagine it would be 3 future seconds, which would likely all be worse picks that #31.

If not, MIN could draft Fleming, and use his rights in a trade. It’s just easier for a GM to make a draft pick the trade right away, rather than delay and have their fans fall in love with a guy.

I’m expecting at best a top 20-25 protected first that if not conveyed become multiple seconds.

You aren’t exactly trading for 31, you are trading for 3 years of (insert player name here) before he hits RFA.

That’s not a bad idea. They still have faith in Leonard Miller though, and Jaden McDaniels took a leap when they played him at PF when Randle was out.

But I like Fleming too, and they may need bigs. We’ll see.

Yeah Fleming, Penda, Raynaud all seem like they should have gone earlier. Some good option at 31 and 32.

I’d throw Kalkbrenner into this list as well. Fair amount of buzz he could sneak into the late 1st

Few 2nds seem fine. But there’s guys available and Minn should just take BPA.

Yeah that’s the challenge with the T wolves owning the pick. They probably don’t want to get hard capped at the 1st Apron so probably not a match.

Charlotte has got to be pretty happy sitting with 33 and 34 right now. Guaranteed to get two of Fleming, Kalkbrenner, Raynaud, Penda, Thiero

The Wolves find themselves in the proverbial catbird seat.
They either trade the pick for a future #1 or they pick #31 (hopefully Fleming).

I'd just take Fleming unless someone blows me away with an offer. I had him mocked to them at #17 for a while. He's big enough to play C (6-8.25 barefoot, 232 pounds, 7-5.25 wingspan and 9-1.5 standing reach) and skilled enough to play PF so he can line up next to any combo of Gobert/Naz/Randle.

You're not getting a future first for a second even if it's 31

I agree, just pick him. I'd offer the Port 1st-would love him on the Bulls

Minny with Fleming has a REALLY nice young core of Dillingham/Edwards/McDaniels/Fleming/Beringer, and Shannon as a 6th man. That's a super-talented young group. Great to mix with Reid/Gobert/Randle/DDV/Conley

The real evidence of this is Brooklyn would have loved to trade one of their 3 late 1sts for a future 1st and if a team loved someone available now they would have moved that future first for the 1st round contract advantages plus not risking their guy coming off the board. Nobody did.

I think you could get 3 future seconds if a team really loves a dude.

There will probably be some movement before the second round kicks in:

According to Jake Fischer of The Stein Line (Twitter link), the Hornets (either No. 33 or No. 34), Raptors (No. 39), Warriors (No. 41) and Thunder (No. 44) are also open to trading their second-round picks. ESPN identified Charlotte this morning as a team to monitor with one of its early second-rounders.
