Re: Bulls trade #45 for #55 and....cash.
There was a chance we could get a potential rotation player at 45, lots of options in the 2nd round. What a shame, so tired of this ownership. This smells like a Reinsdorf special.

Re: Bulls trade #45 for #55 and....cash.
The meme writes itself.
Altho TBF, we don’t know who these picks are, yet… the roster is full (at every single position, now).. and #45 was already a deep/hail-mary SRP.
I too wanted Rocco the Aussie. Have to imagine Lakers have a C on hold at #45.
At #55, a draft/stash name I’d guess is Almansa, who I had an eye on a year ago.

I'm not phased by this but I can see why the gut reaction would be to get upset. The reality is there was like a 88% chance with this pick would be inconsequential. I don't have the time or desire to get upset at those odds.

AKME shouldn't take any of the heat for this. It was almost assuredly an ownership directive.

When's the last time we gave up cash in a trade? Honestly asking.

Gave up cash to get Luol Deng in the draft.

Re: Bulls trade #45 for #55 and....cash.
Here's the thing: Because of NIL, this was a very shallow draft since most of the guys who would've gone in the 2nd opted to make more money by going back to school.
So, the odds of #45 turning into even a rotation player was sub 1%, BUT YOU GOTTA AT LEAST TRY! IT'S A LOTTERY TICKET BUT SOMETIMES PEOPLE WIN THE LOTTERY. AK WON THE LOTTERY WITH JOKIC.

It's such a bad look for the NBA, I wonder why they even allow it. The NFL doesn't have this.

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.
NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

Hey Lakers brass, we need new couches in the players lounge, you mind footing the bill for that? You remember the deal we made right?
That's how I see cash considerations.

Aside from being just generally bad process, the move here if you don’t want the pick is to trade it for a future 2nd that you might use or have has a trade asset. That’s more annoying than losing out on whoever may be available at 45.

Honestly I'm not angry. If AK had actually moved Vuc, Williams, or White I would have been thoroughly shocked. We all have a pretty good idea of how this FO operates at this point.
We know, but people still go to games and support this ownership.
The biggest question is why? There is absolutely nothing to like about this organization. It’s time for this loyalty to end.

This is just a big THANK YOU GIFT to ownership on behalf of AKME for receiving undeserved contract extensions earlier this week.

I mean, they still have the 55th pick. There's really not a difference in talent throughout the 2nd round for the exact reason in bold.
Obviously we know the answer, but I just don't get moving down instead of just moving out completely which would've given them future picks.

Re: Bulls trade #45 for #55 and....cash.
Some of you may recall how badly I generally trash 2nd round picks as assets.
Even I think this is just ridiculous. An insult to the fans. If you don't want a player in this 2nd round, not even future HOFer Rocco Zikarsky, for whatever reasons, fine. Trade it for a future 2nd. Don't take a worse crack at a player in this same draft for a little cash at a time when we need talent and help.
