Yes, Stein/Fischer reported that Schroder to Sacramento and Russell to Dallas are basically done deals.

I’m sure things can change, but I don’t think they’ll report that unless they heard through the back channels that they had verbal agreements already.
Someone reported a while back that NAW to Orlando was a done deal.

You mean like CP3 to Orlando was a done deal?

That's not exactly what was said.

Marc Stein and Jake Fischer reported that Orlando was very interested in (and likely already made contact with his representation even though that's "not allowed") Alexander-Walker for their full MLE, but they also said he would have a lot of suitors willing to offer him the same contract.

It's possible at this point that Hawks may be willing to offer him even more than the MLE via a sign-and-trade because they have a TPE that's much larger than $14.1M.
Georgia has state and local taxes that could be up to 9% and Florida has none.

The first round passed without a trade, which increases the odds we’re headed for a soft run-it-back scenario.

I just think that’s putting far too much faith in Jase, Jett, Caleb and TDS than is justified at the moment.

If any one of them steps up? Great!

But the expectations are too high to not have contingency plans for those guys in my opinion.

We need 3 more quality players. A PG who can run the 2nd unit, a SF BU who can shoot the lights out, and an energy offensive minded Big who can replace Moe and form a bench duo with Isaac. Get this via FA and trades, im fine with trading either Goga or WCJ. Maybe attach some youth like Houstan/TdS/Jett and sign a Vet for minimum instead for 3rd unit.

Suggs / ?? / Richards
Bane / AB / Jett
Wagner / ?? / Houstan
Paolo / Isaac / TdS
WCJ or Goga / ?? / Moe

Totally fair take, and I do think the Bane trade signals a willingness to prioritize short-term wins over long-term development paths. Personally, I’d still explore moving JI, WCJ, and even Suggs if it meant improving our shooting and availability across the board. That said, it feels like the front office intentionally locked in the big rotation and is prepared to give Suggs more rope. We may not see more aggressive roster churn until next summer unless a clear value swing presents itself.

They really need to do something with bench and get some player that can give them 15-20 min a game. Season is long, players get hurt.

I'd be happy with Dinwiddie, as cheap as possible, grab a shooter or two in the second round (and hope one makes it to the show), and (ideally but...) find a way to get a solid high-motor starting C like Gafford while unloading Goga, Jett, possibly one of WCJ or Isaac as needed.

Or, Dinwiddie, get Hauser from BOS somehow into MLE with future srps, and move up for Raynaud or Kalkbrenner

Why is TDS a 3rd string PF and not Franz’ backup?

It feels like just an assortment of players, not yet a bench mob.

So we can draft two guys and the roster is full. I dont think its likely.
Drafting a big man with one pick trading the other and then trying to sign one of the jones brothers or Gary Harris/Cojo if it fails seems like another option.
Some kind of trade involving Goga and/or Jett seems like the third option.

I like second the most, but who knows whats available for our younger players and Weltman hinted they are getting calls on them.
If we doesnt do trade and doesnt sign a veteran pg than i would think we will try to start with Black/Jett and replace Jett with Jase if he does well in practice.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Spoiler:
AB - one way defensive wing
Jase - who knows
Jett - not an nba player
TDS - not big enough to be a PF, not quick enough to be a SF. Arguably the only two way player off the bench.
Houstan - one way shooter that hasnt been a great shooter
Isaac - injury prone, one way, non-versatile PF
Moe Wagner - injured until January one way Center
Goga Bitdaze - One way defensive Center that was third string all last season and didnt see the playoffs.

Still not great.

How about this...

1. 46, 57 and Jett for 33 - pick Raynayd or Kalkbrenner (whatever your preference) - sheds $3.8M
2. Decline Moritz and resign for 2/15 - sheds $3.5M
3. Sign one of the Jones brothers for the TPMLE, 1 year deal - adds $5.7M
4. Trade Goga and two 2nds for Sam Hauser - adds $1.7M

Guards: Suggs, Bane, Black, Jones, Richardson
Wings/Forwards: Franz, Banchero, Hauser, Isaac, Houstan, Da Silva
Bigs: Carter, Moritz, 2nd round center

1 open roster spot. Approximately 1.2M or so under the first apron.

I have been saying Dinwiddie for weeks. I think he is the move. Also I really like the idea have TDS/Jett/Caleb battling for the back up 3 spot.

I made a thread and said I have TDS for now but I am expecting a jump from Caleb and Jett. Their jobs are literally on the line.

Sign Dinwiddie, make 1 more pick and thats the squad. I also think Moe is suited up game 1. Even if he is not. Goga is fine for 5-10 games.

Suggs (28)/Dinwiddie (14)/Jase
Bane (32)/AB (22)/Jett
Franz (34)/TDS (14)/Caleb
Paolo (34)/JI (14)
WCJ (28)/Moe (20)/Goga

Pick is in the g-league and maybe we bring back cojo.

I think so, but probably an insignificant one where they just punt 57.

I see him more of a combo forward and a bit slow to play SF fulltime/not good enough to be main BU. Its a bit same as with Houstan, thats why id prefer to trade at least on of him.
