Passing on Buzelis and Ace is quite the start for the rookie GM. Or if you prefer missing the surcharge Dumars paid for his 2nd target when you were in position to draft his 1st target.

This is like firing JB and replacing him with Clifford.

I would say the bigger mistake was last year talking up Mark as being part of this core of the team and therefore using that as justification to not take clingan. I don't think Jeff really understood how cooked Mark was. In hindsight I think they take clingan at 6.

3 & D center? Why take that when you have Pepe Lepew there to bring winning culture.

Forget that Clingan won 2X in NCAA.

What were Liam's pre and post injury shooting numbers? I know both are small samples but I like his form.

Tre and Liam or Ace and Liam sounds a lot better than Kon and Liam. Both of those would be A+ drafts

Seems a better balance of ceiling and floor.

Peterson conducted a very floor-focused draft in his second rodeo.

Hmm, I wonder why.

Nicknames are harder to come by for this guy. Liam: Museum, Coliseum... epicurean. Could get silly with McNeeley since "Neel" rhymes with lots of stuff. McSteal-ey, highlighmcreeley

He can't guard anyone either, him and Kon are going to both be terrible defenders in the NBA.

Here is what No Ceilings Draft Guide said " McNeely's lateral movement is a concern. Quick guards can break him down in space, and he can look heavy footed on switches. He competes, but he's unlikely to be a defensive playmaker or assignment guy.

Kon Defensive writeup in No Ceilings Draft Guide said " Because of lack of explosive physical tools, lateral quickness and the requisite compensating length. Kneuppel is someone opposing teams will look to target defensively. His limited athleticism makes his margin for error razor thin, especially as an on-ball defender in space. It also essentially eliminates any defensive versatility making Kneuppel more of a one-position defender. Ideally, he's matched up against the least offensive perimeter threat on the opposing team. The issue there is that the NBA is filled with athletic dynamic perimeter on a nightly basis. Kneuppel must continue to find ways to leverage strength and IQ to provide defensive value. While he'll always be an offensively tilted player, the hope is that he can eventually provide at least serviceable defense within a team because of those qualities in addition some defensive playmaking sprinkles.

McNeely comps- Klay, Barnes, Champagnie
0.6 steals, 0. 2 blocks per game.

Kon comps- Kispert, Bane, Kennard
1.0 steals, 0.2 blocks per game

We may legitimately have the worst defense in NBA history next year if Miles and Nurk are our frontcourt defenders covering for Kon Melo and Liam in front of them.

I'm struggling to remember what nicknames he had

I used to jokingly call him and DJ white the Oklahoma turnstiles since they were both from Oklahoma and two of the worst defensive big man I've ever seen in my life
