I’m almost begging Daryl to draft Fleming at #35 or move up for him. Whatever it takes. We need this kids skillset in the worst way at the 4.
always a jump shot away.

Fleming is sitting there at the top of the 2nd for the taking. If Daryl is going to make a move, it has to be now and it has to be for him. Give Charlotte what they want (within reason), jump fking Boston and make sure we get our guy. He's a hand in glove fit at the 4 for us. It makes perfect sense.

For me it's:

Flemming
Penda
Thiero
Kalkbrenner
Brea

in this order

Thiero is the guy that interests me as a mega-athlete who hit a growth spurt. His shot is concerning but I feel like he’d be the upside play.

Charlotte has the two picks ahead of us, so trading with Charlotte would just be jumping them. To jump Boston, we would have or move up to 31, which appears to be the Wolves pick.

Fleming is #2 in ESPN’s best available board, so prob not a great chance he survives the next four picks. ESPN has him ranked 27th, but most sites I checked had him closer to 20.

It's such a delight listening to the VJ interviews.

Could you imagine if we instead drafted a chucker wing who thinks he can play 1-5 and gained 15-20 lbs of muscle since the combine?

I'm actually hoping for confirmation of the story that ownership killed a trade down

I read somewhere that ownership told him flat out do not trade down. Read this like a hour before the draft.

It was a CBS report that Bodner referenced. However, if you follow the Sixers organization closely, you know that report makes no sense. Reporters throw a lot of crap out there to try exchange favors with their sources because they know some fans will latch onto anything.

If you choose to believe that report, then were all the reports of them possibly trading down lies? Or did Josh Harris issue this demand one hour before the draft?

After five years of Morey running the Sixers front office like the Wild West, Harris draws the line at trading down on a draft pick lol. Morey gets caught tampering, lost draft picks for not disclosing injuries, fined multiple times for not reporting injuries as per league rules, Ben holdout, Harden holdout, sign a 35 year old to a $200+ million contract, sign an injured player to a four year extension over a year before his contract expires… but Harris finally steps in to tell him he can’t trade down.

At the PHLY draft watch one of them, forget which, came out and off the air said no one in org would deny the report outright, but also weren't willing to confirm. Sounds like it actually might be true.

Really jealous of that ATL trade down. So unenthused with anyone available I would've thought about doing that for 3. Hope I eat these words.

Let's be honest, we have never been lucky to get those kinds of trades pulled off except when Hinkie was our Captain...f*** you Silver.

After Nipples went at 4; I think there were like 12-14 picks in a row where the kid picked looked like someone shot their dog.

I kinda doubt that Harris nixed a trade down. But the only trade down that would’ve made sense is swapping with Washington so they could draft Ace & we draft Tre. Who knows if that was on the table but moving down further than 6 would’ve been a bad idea imo.

Harris is a POS, so can't rule it out? But still seems like a long shot. He's busy with his other sports team.

Fleming remind me of a more developed Paul Reed. I see Naz Reid to him. I know Morey prolly want him but knowing Timberwolves will resign Naz and eventually move Randle, they prolly the him with the first pick tonight

Bobby Portis clone. I really hope we get him.

Ha, no, I was at the long table.

That table looks none too happy about the VJ pick. Was that the Ace table?

Our TV's were a few seconds behind the ones used by Derek and Kyle who were in another room doing the broadcast. Some folks heard Kyle over the loudspeaker say VJ; but most of us didn't and we were waiting for the closed caption to catch up with Silver's announcement. That was why it seemed a bit muted, once we all heard it there was cheers and clapping.

I think one table to the far right in the back was pro-ace and a few essengue truthers.
