Who would tell you that? Who are you? No one. Answers both questions perfectly.

Twitter is trash I am really hoping for Bluesky to replace them in the next few years because they have an actual authentication protocol in place.

Bluesky is great. No nazis, trolls end up on mass block lists that can be shared, actual authentication, etc.

OK. Hopefully they request permission to interview Chris Quinn too. Widen the net and my impatience will ease up.

I was looking through the FA class for bench players to fill the roster with. Not exciting. I would not mind bringing in Tyus Jones and Luke Kornet. I don't think that's affordable though. Maybe one of them for the TPMLE? First glance wasn't very exciting. I will probably stare at the lists again until something makes sense.

I didn't realize free agency starts Monday. I'd think a hire needs to be made before then no?

Isn’t the first stage where you can only deal with your own FAs?

If that is the case I don’t think it would matter. We don’t really have any FA who we have to convince to stay.

Also I am going to be honest the CAA connect might get us through free agency too.

I feel the same way. FA starts the following Monday. Teams are allowed to have discussion with players starting June 30th. We have maybe 10mil to spend. I think Leon can handle that without a HC but. I would prefer they already hired someone so, don't ask me what's taking so long.

Two scenarios that are complete speculation….

It could be they don’t like any of them.

Or

It could be they want to bring in a HC and an Associate HC together as a way to make it not awkward when the HC doesn’t have any say on who the Associate coach is. They interviewed Woodson and Thibs for the HC and then turn around and brought Thibs in as HC and Woodson in as Associate HC.

So say they wanted to bring in Brown and Nori, or Jenkins and Barrego, or you know some combination of those 4. It would be really awkward and definitely a story for the media to hype up if HC was hired and then they hired someone a week or two later that he didn’t know as his associate head coach and “forced them” onto his staff.

Other teams do this, but in NY that becomes a year of rumors and speculation.

Meanwhile a Brown X Nori duo might be really, really good. Brown has historically done a lot better when he has a really good associate head coach to give him another set of eyes.

Yeah. I was mulling over something like this last night. Maybe they are looking to see if they can pair up a couple of these candidates. As long as they keep expanding the list, I'm ok.

We are TPMLE/Vet mini shopping in FA. I don't think they are looking to move anyone of relevance to our main rotation pieces. Maybe some cap jockeying trades with the small contracts? Late draft pick they made trade up with? As much as I wish they had hired someone already, there's not a lot of things they need a HC for at the moment. Now that the Kidd nonsense is over, we can focus on this list.

I like Nori he could be the team's fave so far

But remember that our team had this soft persona it needed tough guy vets so badly and signed PJ Tucker for that role

I don't think Nori's clowning around the team fits that too well, this team needs someone who is easy going who can motivate players but also can lit them under fire when needed (I think Jenkins does this well) especially if PJ ends up leaving

Why the heck haven't we interviewed Johnny Bryant it's odd

Don't be silly...they are going to want the input of the midlevel exception and vetmin FAs about who the Knicks should hire as coach and also help form the schematic principles they use. It's the only right thing to do in the player empowerment era.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

A Brown/Nori pairing could be really good.

Brown definitely knows how to command respect, deal with the media and the refs, maintain a locker room, but Nori seems set to do everything else behind the scenes. Nori is also a X and O guy whereas that isn’t what Brown is known for.

Also Brown has been on the other side of that equation in GS so he could appreciate having an associate HC.

Would Nori leave Minny to come here for a associate HC gig or a HC gig? Would Brown be willing to take the sidekick position? Would Nori be ok with that? So many angles.

Yeah Barrego might be the back up associate. If they was doing this in a typical hiring fashion you have a first choice and a second choice lined up and then if one says No you move onto the other. Plus it goes without saying Dolan will pay them more to leave their current situations.

Why would Kidd want to be here anyway? This is like, the most pressuring position and situation, even for new york standards. Plus, he gets to coach Flagg. Kyrie is there. Doesnt make sense

Return to New York Knicks
