They basically gave up the Pacers' 2026 top-4 protected pick and the better of their/Bucks pick next year for Derik Queen.

I don't think there's any protections on the MIL/NO pick, so they could theoretically give up the 1st pick next year.

Not only that, the Hawks have 2 shots at the 1st pick using the Pelicans' and Bucks' lottery odds. It's egregious.

Raynaud’s the better, more versatile shooter. He’s a perfect fit on this team. Nice change of pace big with a lot of upside left

I could sort of understand this if they got pick #2 or even pick #5, but for pick #13? And he did this coming off a 60+ loss season, in a very tough western conference where making the play-in is a challenge. Just completely idiotic.

I hope 31 gets traded today.

Just want to see the value of day 2 1st pick which the Raps had last year

I would have considered moving 9 for 23 if the price was next year's Pelicans/Bucks unprotected first.

Wish Masai could have pulled this off for our #9... amazing

Yup.

I said earlier...if they improve by 15 wins they would only pass 1 team in the standings, the Spurs...who we know tanked at the end of the season.

That's a big hill to climb to not give up a top pick.

I would have taken that deal I think. It's a bit risky not knowing who would still be on the board at 23, but I liked the talent this year into the mid twenties. As it turned out, Newell, Clifford, and Jase Richardson were all still available at 23. I'd have happily taken one of those guys, and have a potentially very valuable Pelicans/Bucks pick added to the warchest.

There is a scenario where both Milwaukee and New Orleans are lottery teams next season so you'd be getting a definite lottery pick no matter how the swap turns out.

And like Kreamy pointed out, they could have 2 chances at the #1 pick (NO and MIL)

So, you might not have done that?

If Dumars has a top 9 grade on Queen (which isn't crazy, some people think he's top 5). Then how is this not a fair trade?

Kuddos to Dumars if he pulls off a star with a future 1st and a late 1st.

This is the reality of what a lottery pick costs. I'm sure this is what the SGA pick, or the Giannis picked woulda cost when we frantically tried to trade up.

If Queen is Sengun, then it's a winning trade no matter what. He identified a star and got him.

Masai should have pounced in that weak link Dumar

The right answer should be Adou Theiro or Rasheer Fleming...but if they go for another center...lol...wouldn't surprise me either. lol

Now common sense would say Joe D started talking to every GM from like 5 onward...because that type of deal is up Utahs alley.

And when told no, you move down to the next guy. Rinse, repeat.

But I would not he shocked if that never happened.

Decent rebounder but could stand to be more aggressive on defence. He was also the main guy on his team, so needing to stay on the floor probably played into that.

They are one Zion injury from being a top 6 lottery pick...
