who says no?

Is pass. Niang is a cheap expiring that might be useful.
32 has the potential to be a really good player.

yea, we don't even have Niang yet because the KP trade isn't official.
and
I'd hate to deal with the Lakers, esp if they get a good player they otherwise couldn't get
but
moving Niang is $8 million which is funds for re-signing Luke/Al which is why I'd consider it

I'm torn between my irrational love for draft picks and my irrational love of slick financial moves!

I think I ultimately pass since 32 -> 45 is too much to give up to dump Niang. If Lakers had better / more available future 2nds, i might consider.

The player they need to dump is Simons, who makes three times as much as Niang and plays no defense. At least Niang tries.

What don't you like about Hollingsr rankings?

I would have Kalkbrenner and Raynaud much higher. I'm just playing. He's got his rankings. It's fine. Mine differ.

The last time we dumped a "draft pick" to save money was Desmond Bane (Enes Kanter debacle).. Hopefully we have learned from that. You don't dump a chance at getting some good and very needed talent.
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

Regardless if Brad trades #32 or not, it's pretty clear there are +3 prospects on the board broadly considered first round talent. This puts us in great position tonight, to either get value in trade or get a 1st round talent on a four yr rookie minimum contract.

That 2023 trade back on draft night, that produced this #32 pick was just a great bit of business by Brad. And we have a good 2nd next year coming as well from that deal. Great work Celts front office!

Package them with Hauser and get a good player for the money with term. Tatum comes back and they’re ready to rock.

Yeah, that was why I came around to ultimately passing. The chance to get one of the top 5 guys left is too great to pass up.

Agree. There's good talent to be had where we're picking. Just take who we like and don't get cute.

Please tell me you are joking. :o

I don’t know, I hope not, just messing with you guys. I’m setting my spirit up for when he does it, I don’t want to be upset about it. I want him to pick a guy that he thinks can get on the floor now, that they may have had first round grades on.

I just want a shiny new toy, but I will say, 2nds are good currency these days. He can pick up a few.

Also could be GSW has two overseas dudes they have promised to take and stash

I assume 32 has Desmond Bane type value so I am going to need 5 firsts.

I mean this fist windmill is just silly. Not saying he’ll be the Thompson twins, but he’s a freak athlete. He can’t shoot a lick (like the Thompson’s), but he easily had highest ceiling of these guys left and could be a rotation piece, which is all you’re looking for in 2nd rounders

Not just cuz of the dunks, but you're pushing my tantalized by Thiero again button, lol. If Fleming goes 31, I could definitely be into him.

Fleming
Thiero/Penda/Raynaud muddle
Broome

He was always on my board, but that was assuming Fleming/Penda were gone.

GSW being dumb imo.
41 could be like Sion James or maybe even Thiero or the big Chinese guy ( oh wait). 52 and 59 will never play in the league.

Just feels like there are about 8-10ish guys in the next tier, maybe even a couple more. So if one slips to 41 you get a much better prospect. But, yeah, more darts is always good if you don't see it that way.
