I see a lot of people posting this guy. Has he done anything to gain the credibility as an “insider”? Also what benefit does it do for the Bulls to do this? Not understanding the benefit to the bulls.

This is just poor aggregation. Jake Weinbach writes on the NBA but only posed the Bulls as a potential Beal destination as speculation (just like we've done here). He did not cite any sources or claim that he had inside information.

These other accounts then tagging him like he's a source for legit info is just click-baity crap. It works, it gets reactions, but reactions that are not appropriate.

I'll happily gift them O'neale for Conley or Allen for Di Vincenzo/ Garza/ 31st pick. Whichever they'd prefer..........lol.

This alongside of Fleming might he my favorite options at 36! But really, you can't go wrong with any of Fleming, Thiero or Raynaud in the 2nd round.

When we talk about really cutting salary, and thinking of Allen or O'neale, there is a trade we could consider.

Rven though I don't ever like the idea of helping out the flakers, one trade that I would consider ( last option choice) just to dump salary would be:

Allen or O'neale w/ Richards ( because they're desperate for a center)!! For either Klebers' $11 million or Vincent's $11 million expiring contract and the 55th pick. ( Don't really care about using it as much as just taking it from them so they can't use it themselves).

I think that they'd definitely consider it with both Finney Smith and Reeves opting out.

No details why he declined the contract?

Think it says they're going to work on a deal next summer or something. Can also probably get more on open market from another team if he has a another good year

This is another one where context matters and knee-jerk reactions are unnecessary.

Teams are limited in how much they can offer as veteran extensions to players based on the contracts they are currently on. Reaves is playing on a below-market contract, and an extension can only start as a certain percentage higher than what he's making now. So the Lakers are going to offer the max they are allowed to now, but Reaves is almost certainly going to be able to command more in the open market as a free agent once his contract expires (including from the Lakers) where he can sign a new contract instead of an extension, allowing him to earn a much higher amount of money.

The only theory that I can come up with is the Bulls offload PWills longer term contract and get cap space in two summers.

Granted, if one looks at the Bulls salary cap

Jevon Carter, Vucevic and Zach Collins all are expiring this summer
Lonzo Ball has a 10m option next year - Club, not player
Jalen Smith expires next summer

It truly makes ZERO sense - unless they trade for Beal and buy him out for $90m and save the owner, a bunch of cash

Two more players are expiring this year
Huerter and Coby White

Bulls have ZERO reason to take a couple second round picks just to offload PWill

So Flex, DOldestt on twitter - calling BS on anybody who thinks the Bulls are trading for Beal.

Suns make another trade --moving up to 41. Have no clue who they want - GoK - what do you have?

Increases our chances of getting a rotation contributor?

At least our FO is being aggressive.

Either they are trying to combine 41 and 36 for the Timberwolves pick OR they are trying to get that extra ammo to add to a trade for a player.

I don't see a reason to trade 41 and 36 for say 32

just get two solid role players...

I'd check it again. The reason the deal has to wait until the new league year is because Jalen Green's salary number isn't high enough for it to work out for Houston until then.

I could be wrong but my understanding is a 2nd apron team can't take back more salary than they trade out. Green+Brooks+10th pick salary slot is a little more than KDs number. If they get under the second apron then it's legal.

The first statement is true, it's just that there are some quirks to these particular contracts and how trades work from a technical standpoint that make it work just fine under those rules.

also the 10th pick doesn't carry any salary in the trade in instances like this.

matt131 threw some tweets about it in a quoted post, and there's also something to read here: https://www.spotrac.com/news/_/id/2866/rockets-acquire-kevin-durant-from-suns-for-jalen-green-dillon-brooks-2025-10-pick that explains it.

My money is on Tyrese Proctor or Sion James! Both played with Maluach at Duke. Also they're in range now if Brea slightly falls. He's as close as you'll find to Klay Thompson offensively.

Tyrese Proctor- Mile Conley.
Sion James- Hybrid of Marcus Smart and Desmond Bane.

I hope though that it's not for Lanier, not because he's bad or anything. But because he's basically a cheap version of Beal.

I feel like they are trying to get that Minnesota pick. 36/41 for high 30s

I just read that the lakers may have been hoping to get Maxime Raynaund with 45. Maybe we wanted to ensure that don’t get him.
Just say no to idiots!!
