Ace is actually the hero in my book. He stopped any chance of us wasting the pick on him.

So it would be:

PHO -> Fleming
BOS-> Raynaud (or Markovic)
CHA -> Kalkbrenner

I suppose Penda or Thiero for us

It feels like every move the Suns make is a win-now move. Like Ishbia can't see past the next 3 days. I don't understand how people like him can accumulate wealth.

Damn. Was hoping to Fleming. Oh well, still enough guys at #35 that will be worth taking a look at.

Now that I said that they'll probably trade the pick lol

Kalkbrenner looks like a late career BroLo.

He would have been perfect low cost piece for us, but I don’t want to get involved in a sweepstakes for a second rounder lol

If Fleming is gone, I'd go Noah Penda.

He's young and a big-bodied F with some defense and playmaking.

I don't want to take a 24 year old bigman with this pick.

Thiero feels like a classic Morey pick. Think it’ll be him if he’s available. He does want to get more athletic after all.

I think it's gonna be Bogo. His length, shooting, and passing make it super intriguing at this stage.

We also need guys who are over 6'9. Currently we have three guys, two of which may play half their games.

Are we sure they are keeping the pick and not selling it? You know. Harris had to spend like $500k on a Jayden Daniels rookie card a few weeks ago.

Will he ever come over, though?

I read he is a combo forward. Would he have the size to fill PF minutes?

I think people in this town are just spoiled with Howie Roseman so they expect all of our GMs to be as aggressive as he is with trades. Morey just isn't that guy, unfortunately.

Agreed. The draft really fell off once you got past the 4th pick. :o

I don’t watch college hoops, but how would you rate the third pick value in this draft vs your third prospect in the 2023 and 2024 draft?

In which of the last three drafts do you see the best probability of getting a star at 3?

It doesn’t matter who was actually selected third, but judging by who was available when the pick was made?

That was just meant as a shot at Ace since he went 5th :lol: I do like VJ and Kon more than the other guys that were considered in the same tier though (Ace/Tre).

I'd be lying if I said I was a huge college basketball guy outside of March. Mostly do a lot of cramming around draft time and am heavily influenced by the experts I like. Definitely would not value my opinion over some of the guys in this thread there are clearly deeper into it (Negrodamas, Kobble and 76ology)

But in my non-expert opinion... below average for what you'd expect out of a 3rd pick, at least from a star upside perspective.

2024 - you could argue he is as good of a prospect as anyone in that draft. Dumpster fire year to have a top pick.

2023 - probably 6th after the Thompson twins? You could maybe argue Ausar being the same tier. Wemby/Miller/Scoot/Amen were clear better prospects IMO.

I've got a lot of faith in VJ being a good player. His athleticism/skill set/work ethic feels pretty can't miss in terms of making an impact. I just don't have a ton of belief in him as franchise player type talent. But I don't believe in anyone outside of Flagg/Harper being that.

which sucks because like Nurse being this mad scientist, Morey was supposed to be this insane deal maker based off of his rep lol

I’d rather have good drafter Morey than crazy trader Morey lol
