As a point of reference Skenes pitched 122 at LSU in 2023 and 160 last year between Indy and Pitt. A 30% increase. He's on pace for 212 this year, a 32% increase.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

What has his average velocity been in the minors? 93-94?

Re: Brewers 2025 Discussion - Civale to White Sox
Mis is now firmly cemented as the odds on favorite to win NL rookie of the year per ESPN (odds came out 3 days ago so did not include yesterday's performance). Is he eligible to get us a PPI pick next year? Since he wouldn't accumulate a full year of service in the MLB, I am thinking no, which kind of sucks.

Assuming he stays in the Majors this year he'll accrue enough service time where he won't be considered a rookie next year. Where this would sting is the Brewers would lose a year of control on Mis if he does win ROY

How though? He would need to be on the 26 man roster for 172 days to accrue a full year of MLB service time and lose a year. He was called up on June 10th, no way he gets 172 days by season end. Right? So i guess it's a catch-22, no PPI pick next year if he wins ROY but on the other hand also saves a year of control.

The winner of the ROY gains a full year of service for that season. So even though he wasn't called up until June he would get credit for a full season of service. This was in the last CBA as a way to try and prevent teams from manipulating service time

Got it, thank you. I missed that!
Edit: and it's for winning OR for even finishing 2nd in voting.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Anyone else think a Eugenio Suarez trade would put this team over the edge into legitimate title contenders? Or is it just me?

Suarez would be a good trade candidate as long as we don't have to give up any top prospects. With how Durbin has played I don't think the Brewers need to pigeonhole themselves into a starting 3b but I would like to see them upgrade the Monasterio spot at a minimum. I think they should just look to acquire the best bat they can and figure out the positioning later. Basically Yelich at DH & Turang at 2B are the only locked in spots imo

Good news on Gasser. I'd guess he just stays in AAA this year but could be another arm if needed

Durbin figuring it out or just a hot streak? Think he has hit .300 for the past month now.
Kinda forgot about Cortes. I have no idea what they’re going to do with the rotation. Optics on a Peralta trade would be very poor and hate to kill the team vibe ala Hader deal (even though it was good deal).

Just happened to check today, but Durbin and Ortiz are hitting ~.290 this month. Much needed and has led to more consistent offense

This won't come as a big shocker or anything, but I got a chance to talk to someone who would know, and apparently it's nearly a guarentee that Rickie is the next manager after Murphy. They won't force Murph out or anything but Rickie is loved by everyone from the FO to the players. He apparently nearly got the manager job when it was open 2 years ago and now there is little doubt that he's ready whenever Pat decides to move on
