The Celtics can use depth on cost-effective seconds to fill out the backend of the roster. Getting four total picks for one is really good value for Boston. Also, give them additional future draft capital to use in trades down the line.

I can't help but think if Brad picked Fleming at 28 then Hugo would still be there at 32. I don't believe he really wanted Fleming. He is probably aiming for Javon Small.

4 lottery tickets instead of 1 seems like a good deal, no?

At pick 46 you’re lucky if there’s any nba players remaining

Well Brad did find Hauser who was undrafted. So it’s not impossible, just unlikely.

For ya'll who are scoffing or talking negatively about mid to late 2nd round picks, keep in mind the following players went undrafted:

Hauser, austin reaves, caleb martin, alex caruso, ben wallace, brad miller, Haywood Highsmith, Gabe Vincent, Jose Alvarado, fred vanvleet, duncan robinson, etc.

Those guys weren't even good enough to get drafted with the last pick in the draft. So a late 2nd round pick is good..

The Celtics have gone from Ainge, who was a great drafter to Brad, who is a Suck Fest at it. Brad, doesn't even seem to like drafting at all...

Oh dang, just thought we might have done this to get Small for Joe. No Rasheer, trade back for more assets, select Javon.

As much as we fall in love with prospects, we have to remember that the overwhelming majority of them suck. It's just true. Players drafted in the late 1st/early 2nd mostly suck and are out of the league quickly. Sometimes you just LOVE a guy and when they do these trades I trust that they're not passing on anyone they love. If they don't love anyone, then I can live with punting.

Apparently Raynaud is more popular on RealGM than with real GMs.

Maybe, maybe not..there's no way of knowing for sure.

In ESPN's final mock draft, Hugo went 21st, and Fleming went 27th..

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/45559441/2025-nba-mock-draft-latest-first-second-round-predictions-all-59-picks

Sam Vecenie from the Athletic in his draft guide had Hugo ranked 24th and Fleming 32nd..

It wouldn't shock me if Brad takes 46 and 57 and goes up. This trade was about the 2026 and 2027 2nds and restockithe bare cupboard of picks they had.

There's also Chaz Lanier left who brought in.

Return to Boston Celtics
