Imagine if our 32 pick don’t get picked up for the season. We just traded 4 2srp for him.

I was wrong on Franz but I've been right on others.

I loved the Franz pick. He picked an average athlete who can’t shoot known for defense? I’ve seen this episode before. Dude is on auto draft right now.

just taking a look...seems like Yabousele...big body, high motor, can do everything but shoot. I could talk myself into him as Mose's special defensive beast project...but I really like Raynaud and can't believe he's even on the board.

While I disagree on Noah Penda, We should make a welcome thread for him.

I liked Sion James...maybe Penda is just a bigger version, a Cedric Coward like project?

I don't know anything about Penda to have a strong opinion on him, but clearly the Magic FO do given what they gave up to get him. And whatever your take on the pick, one of the biggest criticisms have been that the Magic haven't been aggressive in making moves and getting guys they want. Well, they've been aggressive AF this summer. Maybe they didn't make the moves people wanted, but they made moves which is what too many people were worried they wouldn't do.

Some of y'all are just insufferable

Weltman punts on the 2nd round a million times in a row, making everybody mad every time he does it, then he decides actually gets aggressive for a guy he likes using the cache of 2nd rounders he had built up, and a lot of people are just peeing in their pants because it's not the person you guys had done your 20 minutes of YouTube scouting on.

I respect all that, I truly do... but I don't get it with this guy. Seems slow and plays smaller than Jase

Apparently he told teams he wants to come over this year and given how he is a high 2nd, he will have a 4 year contract with at least two years guaranteed.

As Magic payroll rises, they will need guys on 1st and 2nd round rookie contracts to be on the roster and contribute.

They don't if people say they simply disagree or don't like the pick.

Acting as if their scouting is better from PERSONAL OPINION of players they've never seen before and crashing out and getting angry is a completely other thing that this forum regularly does.

They just compared him to Kenrich Williams a 6-6 PF who does nothing well. I’ve never seen a more boring uninspiring pick. Maybe Chuma…They could’ve swung for the fence but NOPE.

Doesn't change the fact that nobody knows if it's 'bad pick' or not.

Howard Mass saying he's not on his board is one thing and perfectly fine. Actively getting mad at players nobody has scouted is just funny to me.

Getting mad about the player? Nah.

Orlando spend a #18 first round pick this time last season on a 3/4. Paolo and Franz play a million minutes a game.
We have 3 Centers and none are elite two way players and well paid.

None of that is good news with this pick.

There were 6 centers taken in the 1st round, not sure how good the 7th would be. Many people didn't think the 1st center would ever get past being a backup.

I do think there is another move coming, it may not be big, but it does seem weird to take this guy after TDS last year. You paid 4 draft picks for this guy.

Penda was really good in Fiba.

Exactly. Hell, I didn't really have a horse in the race for the big men at this stage and think they all had strengths and weaknesses. At least they made a move and decided who they liked. May work out completely, may whiff. None of us know.
