Siakam are Toppin are bigmen, they aren't really SFs, they are power forwards. I can agree that OKC could use a POWER FORWARD defender, because as of now, they either play 2 centers and 3 perimeter guys, or one center and 4 perimeter guys.
They still have Dieng I believe, he supposed to be 6'9, is there still hope with that guy?

Pascal and Toppin aren't "big men" in today's NBA - a lot of guys are now 6'8", even some guards - look at the draft. They won't do an adequate job guarding a true PF let alone a center. Jokic, Embiid, Davis, Edey, Jaren Jackson, etc. THOSE are BIG men.

Thunder don't have a true SF. They have one PF - Chet, but no backup. Dieng's been discussed ad nauseam - he just ain't developing. I have often been pointing out (see Thunder's non-postmortem thread) that Thunder roster lacks 3-4 hybrids who would fit into their system on both ends. Toppin and Pascal are hybrids, and not the traditional PFs like Randle - built, heavy set, post player with 3 point shooting ability but not fleet of foot. Pascal can play the 3 and 4, as well as a small ball 5 when needed, can guard the perimeter. They don't need to find a Pascal. Find a true SF who's athletic, plays very good defense - with quick feet, good hands as a defensive specialist to fill a gap in their roster. A hybrid 3/4 guy since they are "short" in the 3 and 4 spot.

Pascal and Toppin are definitely PFs in todays NBA, and OKC has a true SF in Jaylen Willimas. He is a small forward, and he will look smaller if you put him on Power Forward like Siakam, thats just how it goes. I agree with you I just disagree with your naming of positions, Caruso, Dort and Williams aren't too small to guard SFs, they are elite SF defenders, they can be too small guarding PFs obviously.

I disagree with your assessment. First of all I said again and again hybrid 3/4 and you just can't read. Jaylen Williams is SF but he looked small and couldn't guard Pascal despite being the same height - the dude doesn't have the length nor quickness. He's slow AF for a SF. He was ineffective in the playoffs. It remains a HOLE in their roster. Dort and Caruso at 6'4" are GUARDS in anyone's definition. Pascal is 6'8" same height as Taytum who's today's PROTOTYPE SF. We don't see the same thing. This discussion is closed.

No idea how the Lakers let it get so public who they wanted when they traded up.

That usually is not a good thing. Unless you are picking next.

Dammit.

It is a change though.. our usual 2nd rounders were forwards who supposedly could shoot ( houstan jett ) but lost their touch once thy put on our uniform

Now they have Brooks, Booker, Beal, Fleming and Mark Williams/Malauch as their starters. Maybe Fleming doesn't start...? If not who is the PF?
Beal will be cut or bought out before October.

4x DPOY for the Big East seems insane to drop to #34. Why is this guy not a higher pick?

Could Ryan Kalkbrenner be the steal of the 2025 draft?

Philly reached with Johni Broome at 35. I had him late second round.

Might be Dunn, but I'd rather he play SF. I'm good if they can move Brooks elsewhere.

They could use a PG, but their depth is improved.

Can you really call it a reach if you draft someone in the second round?

Reynaud was still on the board. Broome is a worse prospect.
