Same.... that scouting report is just....

And he is 6'7 barefoot. People here thinking he can replace JI who is probably 6'11 barefoot?

can he play 15mpg every night? then he is already pushing to be better than JI

and he isnt a PF/C like Isaac, he is a SF/PF defender. he doesnt need to be 6'11

The advantage of JI before this season is that hr could cover 3-5 as a near 7footer. From the 3pt line all the way to the paint.

Well JI probably had his healthiest season last season... shame he was too heavy for it

Beyond thrilled with what Weltman has done. A+ draft IMO. Actually kind of surreal.

Loved the Jase pick. Don't see the need to move up to get Penda... explain it to me like I'm 5 because I don't love this pick. Where does he fit in with this team? Is this to help cover Mo's defensive deficiencies with the 2nd unit? Cause that's all I can come up with

OKC just showed you always need defenders. TDS more offensively skilled, Penda more defensively. what are people expecting from a 2nd rounder. this is what we asked, take a swing with a player. He has already shown decent 3pt set shot range along with being a willing passer. let him bake for a couple of years while playing strong defense

Those measurements are great. I just don't love the speed and lack of verticality. What were those measurements and where did it rank against his peers?

I hope they can trade Isaac & use that money to get someone but not sure how some of these contracts look to other teams compared to our fan base lol.

who is going to want to trade for Isaac? i doubt he can even play back to back games yet
Stop it, lol. He played back to back games all year.

He's 20 and he's got a great feel for the game. He's a skilled wing who is a versatile and disruptive defender with a great motor and nasty streak. Needs to develop as a spacer but he's 20 and has already made improvements in shooting each of the last three years.

He doesn't have to be in the rotation right away but he has skills that allow him to grow into a role on a playoff team!

What do you like most about penda?

Defense and feel, connective passer. Just looks like a championship type role player to me. Arguably the best perimeter defender in the class right now. Makes smart quick decisions moving the ball and will occasionally wow you with a pass. Shot needs to improve, but I think the form looks fine and he can become solid on spot ups.

Basically we presumably have our stars, so high feel role players that can get the ball moving on offense are what I liked for this team to add. The fact that he is a stud on defense on top of that makes me very excited about him.

Crazy to me how some people still have the star goggles on in the second round. These guys are all role players, and none will be starters. If any of them can play 10 mins a game for a team in a playoff game, this is a homerun.

exactly, this is what we have been asking for. actually use a 2nd rounder and take a swing for the fences

Isaac super power is/was guarding the perimeter AND having the ability to block guys like Wemby with ease. Penda isn't replacing that.

Most importantly.. he is a near 7footer so you hwar those 3-5 guys already second guessing themselves if they wont get blocked by JI.

No 6'10 dude is second guessong shootig over a 6'7/6'8 dude

Wish I did some analysis on him beforehand... but man looking at what he does I feel like this could be a steal on this team. He is essentially a player in the vein of Aaron Gordon/Boris Diaw/Draymond Green. A playmaking big who can guard 2-5, block shots, and is a drive and kick playmaker, above the break passer/facilitator.

absolutely excited for this guy.

guess who this is?

Tweener, undersized for a physical forward yet lacks the athleticism of a wing … Lacks explosiveness, agility, elusiveness and quickness off the bounce … Under the rim finisher, which is troublesome when you consider his size … Not a threat to shake his defender off the dribble … Minimal upside … Vulnerable defending quicker guards on the perimeter … Could stand to drop some weight …

sometimes you have to let a player play and maybe they are better than their weaknesses say

no idea who that is... whose scouting report was that?

Draymond Green. sometimes the report doesnt match what the player becomes

Winning basketball traits.

-Passing
-Unselfishness
-Versatility Defensively
-Effort and Hustle
-Quick Decision Making

Basically how much or how little his jumper develops over the next couple of years will ultimately determine if he's becomes 25+ MPG player or if he's more of a 10-15 MPG player.

That's like coping with a foreign center pick by saying he could turn out to be Jokic. I get what you're saying though. I'm not saying he's going to be a bust. I just don't get it unless his 3pt shot improves and TDS is getting moved. Penda isn't replacing what JI brings.

What's the 2nd unit frontcourt rotation?
C- Mo
PF- JI
SF - TDS

or

C- Mo
PF- JI
SF- Penda

or

C- Mo
PF- Penda
SF- TDS

No one is protecting the rim with that last rotation.
