I don't think he'll be anything special in the league. He's going to be 24 when the season starts. I would guess he maxes out as a 3rd guard.

Alijah seems like the type of player you'd see on okc hounding ball handlers and hitting 3's. I can't be mad and I think he might be a better fit than Jamal in a lot of situations.

he’s nice but please get us a backup c. i think the fit is nice maybe if we put the ball in gradey’s hands alongside martin on second units. without fueling the rj trade buzz i really want to start jakobe with iq. really just want to turn rj and agbaji into an athletic big (maybe that’s chomche but would like someone more proven) and a wing with positional size (which was other mcdaniels but yeah. i guess we’re did add b.i.) either way welcome to toronto to martin. the compete level of these guys will definitely get us some regular season w’s which seems to be on point for the fans who can’t stomach the tank. i like that he can knock down the 3 at a decent rate and hype everyone with the power dunks.

To say that after watching a finals that had both Pacers and OKC who were two of the best defensive teams in the playoffs and where defence was a big part of how they won is crazy LOL

The Thunder won the title from a best in class defence that frequently was outshot by better shooting teams. Including in the Finals but their ability to turn teams over and get extra possessions became a huge problem for the league.

Chet wasn’t even that great on O this year as a third guy for them in the playoff run either. He was bigger on defence. They rode SGA and Jalen and then wrecked teams defensively. In their close out game in that third quarter their defence went supernova.

Don’t forget. As the whistle is used slightly less in the Finals for ticky tack stuff that might get called in the reg season more it helps to have physical defenders.

I'm all for building a defensive identity....I've been saying that for years. You want other teams dreading to play against you because they know it's going to be a dogfight

I don't know how you could watch the 2019 Raptors and not want to build an elite defensive team again.

Martin is going to see minutes at both the 1&2 thanks to his defense and shooting. I can see them running him with Scottie who can run the offense.

RJ/Gradey/JKW
BI/Ochai/Battle
Scottie/CMB
Poeltl/Mogbo

I think RJ is the odd man out tbh. We badly need a back up 3 so we can move Ochai to the 2, and a back up 5.
