At this point in the draft, I’m just looking for the best value on the back end of the rookie deal.
He could be an extremely aggressive and versatile rotation wing making peanuts.

I would not have traded down, we would have Newell, Reynaud, and let Tristan walk, Jamir is going to the G-League

Last year, he looked like a late 1st round talent.

22 points per 40 on 57.7% TS, tons of steals/blocks/rebounds, drew a ton of free throws.

Florida state must’ve been a mess this year. His numbers are way down.

Maybe will be a good practice player and situational defensive sub. Old guy who can’t shoot or hold on to the ball.

Personally would have gone with Rocco as an upside bet.

I thought there would be a shot at us taking him since he is young, but no dice

Yeah, pretty remarkable who went before each and every pick, even 18 and 21. Awful luck.

The Consiglieri wrote:Okay, it's the first draft in a long while where I hated or was ambivalent at best on every single selection. Yuck. I can see ways I can be wrong, but this guy is old and bleh. Really, really disappointing draft year. Oh well.

I'm sorry you feel that way.

I'm very excited by the prospect of watching Tre Johnson grow his game over the next few years. He already has some really good skills and the mentality to continue growing his game.

Also, seeing how Riley can get to and finish at the rim while putting on weight will be fun as well.

Need to learn more about Watkins.

They are definitely aiming for a Lu Dort/Alex Caruso with this pick.

This guy looks like a menace. Will help toughen up the pups since he's already 24 years old.

Watched 3 or 4 Riley vids today and his ability to get to the rim and finish is indeed very impressive.

He's the pitbull to make the 19 to 21 yr olds work. Watkins has legimitate NBA defensive chops and strength. He'll make Tre, Ky, Bilal & Will earn their buckets. I think that's the upside.

Offensively, Watkins is a low feel player with a shaky 3, probably best served as a 5th option. He would need to become a real threat from 3 to have any real oncourt value as his defense is good, but not special enough to keep him on the floor if he can't draw attention.from perimeter defenders.

A total of 5 picks away from this being a Bailey/Sorber/Raynaud draft. Eventually you have to strike, but trust the process I guess

I wanted draft & stash candidate Bogoljub Markovic. I really like the offensive upside but he'll need to get stronger and show more defensively for teams to buy in to his development.

I am still 4 pages behind. I feel, like i need to take an Evelyn Wood Speed Reading course.

Dat2U said several posts back in the Draft Part 3 Thread:

Perkins is probably worst on TV than he was as the starting C for OKC and that's saying something.

I've long thought OKC would have been had a champiohship if they didn't waste Durant & Russ's prime, playing 4 vs 5 with arguably the worst offensive C in NBA history.

Big Perk was indeed the OKC boat anchor. However, don't forget that Scott Brooks was the Captain of the OKC Titanic. He crashed that ship and made it sink.

Brooks did less with more than any coach in recent memory.

I was sick of his coaching by the second season of his 5-yr, $35M Brinks robbery from Teddy Monuments. He was a horrible coach. Scott Brooks is even worse at coaching than Kendrick Perkins is at announcing.
Bye bye Beal.
