#45: Rocco Zikarsky

So they traded all the picks they received from phx?

Traded 31 for 36, 52, 56. Then made more trades? I’m not watching it so just trying to make sense of it all. Thanks

31 to 36 (getting two future picks). 36 to 45 (getting cash). 45 Zikarsky.

I would feel really good about this if we had picked a player at a different position at 17.

Rudy is under contract for 3 more years where are the minutes going to come to develop 2 18 year olds at his position?

We could have had Fleming for the same money. What a chit show.

Not the same money. One would be a full roster spot the other is a two way. RZ is two years away from being 2 years away. My guess is Jesse Edwards is done.

Probably keep him overseas.

He'll stay overseas. You'll never hear of him again.

G League, two-way contract.

I believe those picks and others were what PHX sent out for 31 and 41. Shams blended two deals a bit. I think.

Drafted two bigs. Is this insurance for losing Naz and Randle potentially? Or more so to replace the end of bench guys?

White Knights are no supposed to post in all caps they are supposed to use lots of smilies and pretty fonts.

Thank you my friend! Didn’t it use to be colored font? Or is that a hazy memory sponsored by 3rd Street Liquor conveniently located in downtown Winona, MN?

Long runway with Zikarski same as Beringer. Both will only be 19 this year and I have been on the Zikarski watch for a while. Can't teach that size and mobility. I think zikarski was injured this year as well so there is that. Fine with a draft and stash.

I think it's more about feeling confident in their ability to keep both Reid and Randle actually. These aren't significant factors as rookies.

I guess Miller, Garza and Minotte are gone and we have the G League or maybe Zikarsky can be stashed.

Those 3 might be salary to match once you can trade would be my guess.

Watching the highlights I noticed a couple things.

#1: he's got real potential as a passer. There were a few really good reads and different touch passes I saw.

#2: he's pretty shockingly mobile for a 7'3" 250 lb guy. Like he can run with decent weight on him without it looking like his whole body is straining to do so.

#3: he can stand up and block drives to the basket not needing to come from the weak side with momentum.

#4: there were hints of post moves and I heard announcers say things like "they go inside to Zikarsky".... "Like you've been begging them to for the past few games eh"?

#5: there's no way I'm not gonna love rooting for a gigantic left handed Aussie.
From a fundamental standpoint it is better for a man to have nothing but be under the protection of Jesus Christ than for him to have everything he could ever want yet be completely without.

I see it as a dice roll 3 years down the road. BPA. No intention of replacing nor affecting anyone on the current roster. Possible foresight of a defensive big needed for wemby..

Would love to see Rocco Zikarsky in Summer League to determine if he’s ready for a two-way. I kind of doubt it, but worth doing!

Two way?

Jesse Edwards level players get 2 ways!

Give him a HInkie and goodbye Garza and Minott.
Only question is this year or next.
In fact if he takes the absolute rookie min the 1st year it would save us a cool mil vs the luxury tax versus a vet min.

Would be awesome if Rocco becomes a cult hero like Naz Reid and makes everyone forget about the other Rocco in town.

He’s pretty far behind even players like Jesse Edwards when it comes to on-the-court impact, it’s just that he (hopefully) has significantly more upside.

Honestly, the team would benefit from getting him on a two-way, rather than wasting his cheap rookie-deal years on a season where he has no chance in hell of getting NBA minutes. Only real restriction is that he wouldn’t be able to play in the Playoffs, which would (God willing) never happen this season.

This was not a great night by any means. I would have much preferred Fleming. But, I have a feeling we'll see Rocco sooner rather than later. Famous last words, I know.
