Also we have to find a way to sign battle. Is there still room for him on the team?

We already signed battle. Has 2 years left then rfa.

The Toronto Raptors signed Jamison Battle to a three-year, $5.25 million deal, which is fully guaranteed for the rest of this 24/25 season, is 50 percent guaranteed for the 2025-26 season, and is non-guaranteed for the 2026-27 season, league sources told @hoopshype. He’s shooting 42.1% on 3-pointers.

likely will be picked up in full

The Toronto Raptors are NBA Champions. They beat the Golden State Warriors, one of the best teams the league's ever seen, and made it look easier than a six-game series suggests. The Raptors defence held the Warriors to 105.8 points per game, a dozen less than Golden State averaged during the regular season.

to be fair, that's kinda been the model since bill russell's celtics. those teams were never tops offensively but cleaned up on the other end. and bill was arguably the biggest/toughest dawg of them all.

How about any big who is NBA caliber. I'm sick of seeing teams with better 3rd/4th Centers than we have backups. Figure your crap out Masai...

I think Masai's inspiration was most likely the Billups Pistons knowing it would be difficult to get a star. You get very good players at every position who play tough defense. That has evolved into different variations with the Rockets, Magic, Celtics and OKC. Personally I love these defensive style teams.

Relax. They said before the draft they were likely looking at the backup C spot in free agency.

you act as if a majority of the teams who have won championships were not elite defensive teams

so sensitive, the difference here is that okc has done it with shorter players, that's the reason for the comment, jesus
