Pistons Trade Ivey and Klintman and Reed to Lakers for Reaves and Dalton Knetch. Why for Pistons is there need for shooters, These 2 scorers will help spread the floor for Cade.
Lakers get the better all around player in Ivey who is very young and getting all around better. They get a decent back up center and a throw in.

I wish Ivey was a better all round player than Reaves, but if he was we wouldn’t do this.

As is, yeah we’d obviously have to take this. Ivey is due an extension soon too so it’s not like he has the major price advantage. And we get Knect too? Sure.

Nah, Ivey was playing really well with Cade before he went down. I'd rather see his upside. Does Reaves even have a particularly good outside shot? Also, I'm pretty sure Reed is a UFA, so that part would need to be a sign and trade ....

Value-wise, sure.

Fit-wise, not really. Knecht, while more valuable than the throw-ins, is a shooting JAG, not really something we need.

I like Reaves, but the fit with Cade is dubious. LAL sees him as expendable now because he’s clearly best with the ball in his hands, but Luka and Bron always have the ball. Well, Cade’s the same kind of player. Reaves’ best skill is his herky-jerky penetration and foul-drawing skill. Solid shooter, too, no doubt, and as stated, more valuable than Ivey, but the fit is actually worse if anything. Would be nice to have him as the second unit PG for some of his minutes, and I’d still do this, but it’s not the best fit for Reaves.

The problem with Reaves is the fact that he will be an UFA next offseason and he will be the top FA in a market where a lot of teams will have money to spend.

He is considerably better than Ivey but Ivey is a RFA. So I don't know if it's wise to throw Ivey away for possibly, and very likely, a 1 year rental of Reaves.

Knetch is meh, he is an older shooter that plays absolutely no defense at all, and he is a solid shooter but nothing special. I am not sure he would get minutes in Detroit to be honest.

Reed is not under contract, he cannot be traded by Detroit.

The Lakers are in a bad situation with Austin Reaves, sadly (or not) because he is a very good player, and any team would love to have him, people talking about him being a bad fit in Detroit or Ivey being better than him don't know wtf they're talking about, he would be fantastic for Detroit (or any team really), but the contract situation likely makes this a no go for Detroit.

It would be a huge gamble, for sure. I can't recall a player who had sooooo much room between his floor and his ceiling 3 years into his career. I wouldn't be surprised if Ivey made a handful of all-star teams in his career -- but I also wouldn't be surprised if he only earns BAE/TPMLE/minimum contracts after his rookie scale runs out.

I've been thinking about the Ivey decision. Too much risk rn -- if you extend now at too high a price, you may end up sacrificing a couple of players who will turn out better because of the upcoming cap crunch.

As for the OP, I'd be a "no" because of the reasons vege stated above

Absolutely 100% agreed.

Ivey was Absolutely tearing it up before he got injured. Meshing well with Cade(the change of pace when each decided to bring the ball up the floor was amazing)shooting 40+% from three, multiple game winners, improved handle, almost unstoppable when going to the rim, e.t.c.

No universe I make this trade.
