Even though it’s a huge gamble the Zion/Ant combo could be deadly in playoffs. We don’t know what Zion can do in the playoffs yet because he has never played in them :o, he needs out of the Pelicans organization badly!

I'm trying to imagine Zion actually being healthy when the Playoffs start...

Why we have to trade a potential Fleming ?!?!

I don’t know. Just watched a St Joes game while working. I don’t really see it with Fleming. Has great frame, length, and decent athlete. But he’s definitely a 4/5. A10 wings are absolutely blowing by him. If he isn’t highly switchable, a lot of the defensive benefit is gone. And on offense, I know the percentages, but I don’t trust that shot. And he doesn’t do much else. Can’t dribble. Can’t pass.

Maybe we can teach him better defensive form and with that length, he could be more switchable. But as is, I don’t see it. The Finals taught me that 1-4 you need people that can dribble, pass, shoot, and switch with rim protection out of your 5. I’m not sure he can dribble, pass, or switch.

If he is Obi Toppin, who can't pass, dribble nor switch, I'm perfectly fine with it.

I think Fleming's appeal is his combination of elite physical tools, age (about to turn 21), and shooting potential. The reason I like him for the Wolves is that he fills a gap in our roster construction. We currently lack a defensive oriented PF with plus strength/weight/athleticsm (McDaniels, Minott, and Miller are all 210 lbs or less, while Randle and Naz are not great defenders).

The thing worth considering with that comparison is that Obi Toppin is an extraordinary leaper (which Fleming is not).

I seen something where Wolfson reported we've expressed interest. He'd be nice in that combo scoring guard off the bench role for sure. Has to be some kind of Randle trade? Sexton makes over 18m and our biggest contract to match with is Mike or Donte around 10m.

Randle + DDV + Minott for Sexton and Collins works, but I dont really like it.

We all know that you secretly want to add Ben Simmons for his defense. :)

I just cannot see Randle not ending up in Miami.

MIA IN: Randle & Minott
MIA OUT: Robinson & JJJr

CHI IN: Robinson, JJJr, '26 SRP
CHI OUT: Ball & Smith

MN IN: Ball & Smith
MN OUT: Randle, Minott, '26 SRP
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

Sexton + Collins is intriguing.
Is Sexton really that unplayable defensively? He's a very good 3 point shooter and an efficienct scorer.
Collins was quietly a very good player last year. Utah was extra awful when he was not on the floor.

Both are unrestricted free agents after this year, so we'd be giving up a year of team control on Dante.
Collins might be an easier player to keep long term than Julius, if he ever forgives Ant for murdering him on that dunk.

I don't know why Utah would want Randle or DDV, but a 3 or 4 teamer might make sense.

Something like:

MN IN: Sexton, Collins, 2nd round pick
MN OUT: Randle, DDV

UTAH IN: Jalen Green, nothing or 9-15 mil expiring contract, protected 1st round pick
UTAH OUT: Sexton, Collins, 2nd round pick

PHX In: Randle
PHX OUT: Jalen Green, 2nd round picks

4th Team IN: DDV
4th Team OUT: protected 1st round pick, TPE, MLE, or 9-15 mil expring contract to salary match

Kinda meh for us but good for roster balancing and going to a more Ant friendly pace and space offense.
Gives us a 2nd ballhandler who can get his own shot.

Sexton and Collins expire after this year but are in the affordable range of players we could extend in the 20-25 mil range with Mike coming off the books.

Also helps with roster balancing for Utah and removing Collins and Sexton helps them tank which will be imperative with their pick going to OKC if its outside the top 8.

Yeah I think Sexton would be a pretty damn solid peace. He's a major upgrade offensively, and he has the size to at least be fine on defense if hes actually committed.

Collins seems like he would be a fine 3rd big, good athlete and a pretty solid shooter. Both guys look like they're nice shooters from the corner. I think he at least fits better overall than Randle. I dont think hes much of a defender, but neither is Julius.

Collins could slide over to the 3 for limited stretches in big lineups too and might be ok defending certain big SFs like Lebron and Paul George.
