Hopefully this means there's a chance for ujiri to go somewhere else like lakers

I think he either runs for commissioner for NBA Africa or perhaps back to Denver

This FO has been incompetent since end of 2020.
Ppl just were wearing blinders on.
But not me and several others

Good for you. Hope you and your friends enjoy the sh*t show you're in for in the years/decades to come.

Firing a guy who is this revered in this city in the manner they chose to do it is a good indication of what you'll be seeing. Have fun!

Nobody tell Ed Bobby's Asian

Look at the Rogers' executive team. He's cool with Asians, just not black people.

Masai made mistakes, but if some of you rather trust Rogers in managing the Raptors then.... LMAO good luck to all of us.

the timing is what i am trying to figure out, i assume masai had another opportunity presented to him, and he pushed for an extension and rogers said we''ll pass.

Yeah man but if you had your way you would’ve nuked the entire FO and roster 6 times in the last 3 years

Rogers is more focused on making money. I don’t think it’s all doom and gloom like everyone’s making it out to be. Rogers will not accept mediocrity, so it’ll be tough for people who want a long rebuild.

Is what idiots will soon be saying.

It’s not the reason this happened - it’s been inevitable since we first heard about the Rogers thing - but CMB was definitely more of a Bobby pick than a Masai pick. I don’t think that’s a controversial take.

This feels like a money saving move, Masai is not cheap to re-sign and they can easily justify it by saying he wasnt producing the results they wanted

I suspect they'll leave the front office as is and remove Masai's role, as they did for the Leafs. And Pelley will speak for the team more often.

Yes, the idea that he's been a top-tier GM post-chip is nonsense. People wanted the Masai of last decade to helm the team. We never got that.

So pretty much what you’re saying is Masai isn’t a top tier ship because of pretty much 1 year where he didn’t rebuild when he maybe should have?

He’s made immensely more good moves than bad moves. Even in the last 12 months with grabbing JKW/Shead/Mogbo/Battle, getting Ingram for cheap, etc.

Yall just haven’t seen the fruits of the last 18ish months yet so don’t appreciate it.

Rating the Ingram move before the guy has played even 1 game and is a known injury-prone player is ridiculous. Man you fell off as a poster.

Draft selection is a big decision. Maybe you don't think it matters for management team moving forward. Or potential trades for that matter. Not surprising.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

A lot of us had been warning about what Elliotte Friedman said last year...that Rogers wanted to do away with team Presidents and just have the GMs report to Pelley. Friedman doesn't make things up, so I knew Masai was gone. I just didn't think it would be before his contract was up.

There will not be a replacement. Bobby will handle things from here. If we trust Masai's mentorship and judgement, then we are in capable hands for now (idiot ownership notwithstanding).

sidsid wrote:One consequence of this move is that we're out on Giannis when he comes available. He was likely vetoing a trade here if we moved out Barnes anyway, but he certainly isn't coming here if Masai isn't part of the package.

If the connection between Masai and Giannis was really that important he would have been a Raptor years ago.
