Yeah they weren’t paying Masai what he’s gonna be worth on the open market. Some other team will

Why now though? Believe in it or not, this roster is obviously being built with a vision in mind. You don’t trade for and extend BI without a plan for how you see things working out. I’m guessing this extends from the GM to the coach, down to the players. If we were going to do this we should have done it the moment FVV left, or after we give this current iteration of the team a chance to see how they work (maybe the trade deadline). Hope it’s Bobby or Tolzman that step up.

What a bummer

I’m not sure about having another opportunity presented to him, but I am virtually certain about the second sentence. He would’ve been a lame duck president like Brendan Shanahan and we all saw how that played out.

On the plus side, if all else stays put, we are in a good place. Now I’d like to see him head over to Larry Tannenbaum’s place to find a way to own the MF team.

DUCK FOU to Rogers always.
I believe in Masai.

Yeah man but if you had your way you would’ve nuked the entire FO and roster 6 times in the last 3 years

Draft selection is a big decision. Maybe you don't think it matters for management team moving forward. Or potential trades for that matter. Not surprising.

you don''t even have the balls to tell us who you'd draft on a message board

you'd hide under the desk if anyone let you anywhere near an actual nba team.

This is much worse than any unremarkable trade.
As a fan since around 2010 I am truly scared for the future of the Raptors

I've been observing a personal boycott of the Jays until they overturn that front office.
I might have to institute a similar boycott of the Raptors for needlessly overturning theirs.
Culture is going to take a nose-dive here. Dave Pelley basically saying all MLSE teams do not need their Presidents now that he's here.
Good luck with that.

F Rogers!
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

The Duke wrote:At least 66% of you, disagreed with Masai 2 days ago, on not taking that Dumars trade. That speaks more about long term vision, and Masai knew he was exiting at the end of the year. So he likely took short term value over long term higher gain.

Uhh ya that makes a lot of sense... The guy is leaving a day after the draft, but prefers short term value vs long term gain, eventhough he won't be here to experience either... Make that make sense?

This franchise is absolutely doomed.

Masai was well connected in the league, highly respected and players knew

Now Rogers is gonna bring in some old white fart with zero basketball knowledge, and this franchise is gonna go full shambles mode.

Can’t wait to get fleeced in every trade, can’t wait to fall short of our goals, etc.

Dark days ahead.
In Masai We Trust :meditate:

Yea prob thought $15 mill a year for this performance (fumbling FVV/OG/Siakam, Poetl Trade) wasn't worth. Bobby will get a bit of pay bump and be the top man. Tolzman prob second in command now.

So he's really going to Atlanta.

lmao maybe was already working for them considering the moves they have made so far

Atlanta apparently deserves Antholopoulos and Masai more than Rogers thinks we do.

I'd be surprised if Masai didn't want to move on by this point.
He's had great success here but sometimes relatioinships/careers become stale after so many years
It might be best for both parties to move on and start fresh

We'll be fine

There will not be a replacement. Bobby will handle things from here. If we trust Masai's mentorship and judgement, then we are in capable hands for now (idiot ownership notwithstanding).

We probably get some people poached if Masai takes another job

LOL. GMs come and go all the time. Great opportunity for Bobby to take the franchise in his own direction. Let's be optimistic.

I’m telling you, Bell, LarryT and Masai getting expansion in Montreal soon. I think Silver sees it as a way to make inroads to France and Europe
