They should just promote Bobby and Dan, imo.

Which is why theres a noticeable dip in management. Once again why are we keeping booby around? If youre gonna fire masai they both need to go and just bring in a fresh new voice

This is worse than Kawhi leaving, Masai was our star in the past 12 years.

I was thinking this too, there is so much vitriol for Rogers (perhaps not undeservedly) but if the Blue Jays are any indication, Shapiro runs the team.

Perhaps Pelley is the actual driving force behind this. He got the “credit” for firing Shanahan but no one seems to be pointing in his direction for this.

since you're cheap anyways, just eliminate the position and pocket the savings. Bob Myers would be a stupid move because he will be just as expensive and I think he's quite overrated.

That's the weird part. They're supposedly keeping Bobby, but why are they filling in the President role here but leaving it open after Shanahan left? lol basically seems like they want to give Bobby autonomy.

they want their guy in place. president is a much higher position than gm so they want the top guy being the one they hand picked.

lol yeah I'm just saying not much belief in Bobby

if bobby stays, then the transition for the fans would be smoother.

it's possible bobby wanted to make different moves along the way only to get talked out of it. if he's ready, then let's give him the keys and see what he can do.

i'm much more comfortable with a guy like him than some new guy who will want to go ham and make a 5 unprotected firsts and 3 swaps trade right away.

Really hope Pelley steps in and does the same thing with the jays president. I wonder if Rogers can make that happen.

Theres no replacement. Bobby is top dog now. Basically business as usually without President. Leafs got rid of Shanaplan but kept the GM.

The Raptors post championship have not been well run, and Webster has been there the whole time. Removing Masai but keeping everyone else seems counter productive, unless Webster was just getting Masai coffee the last six years.

Masai is expensive to re-sign, while Bobby is cheap….tens of millions of dollars versus a few million.

You need to have someone in place. Bobby is the GM in title the way Anthopoulis was for a time after Shapiro was hired. But the new team president will hire his own guy, whether internal or not.

I’m shocked. There’s been talk about it, but I didn’t expect it to be a Shams-bomb the day after the draft.

I’ve been pretty critical of Masai, and if he was just some guy, the last few years have been a fireable performance.

He’s not just some guy though. He’s one of the most respected execs in the league and the guy who brought us a championship.

I also have zero confidence in MLSE to pick a competent replacement.

I think they should give Daniel Tolzman a shot, I think he'll better than Robert Webster
