No language barrier, comes off very confident, and acknowledges he must continue to improve his 3pt shot.

If he ever plays 10 mpg in a regular rotation role over a full season, that's fantastic for where we drafted him

What do y'all expect?

20 years old, 6'8, 7'4 wingspan. Has defensive chops?

That's a lot for a coaching staff to work with if the kid is willing to do the hard part in the gym.

Some dudes on this board just have PTSD when talking about a young French kid with a long wingspan who's a defender but has no offensive game.

I like this one. Very self aware.

I'm excited. It's a second round pick but I put a premium on big wings.

French players NEVER work out here so I don't have much faith. Thankfully it was just a late 2nd rounder and not a lotto.

Ntilikina would have been a fine late first round to early 2nd round pick. He played a total of 7 years in the NBA.

He just had no business being the 8th pick in the draft. Gotta blame Phil Jackson's ego on that one.

Frank??

This is a low risk, high reward pick.

For the next few years we are going to need cheap young talent with upside to address depth. I see no downsides here.

I think Dadiet can be a contributor at some point.

He's a draft and stash player.

While he has good measurements, he's not going to be on the roster next season. Knicks are tight on the cash and don't have time for another project when there's a title to get.

Don't know why ppl are getting hyped about this.

Yah. We have a few holes in the roster, but I'm guessing that the Knicks would prefer to find a contributor in FA.

Because based on the video footage I just posted with him speaking, he is NOT a draft and stash player

Draft and Stash players don't talk like him

I watched the highlights a few times. This kid is raw but he flashes a lot of skill. He can drive and finish with either hand. His 3-pointer mechanics are good. He has an NBA body and NBA athleticism. He has a decent handle for his size and can find the open man. He likes to defend and might be a 1 through 5 defender. I think he is more ready than his numbers indicate.

I'm also ready for him and Dadiet to be on the court together so we can start using "French Connection" puns.

Kolek, McCullar, Dadiet, Diawara, Huk starting lineup (hopefully) will be fun to watch in SL. I wonder if they could compete for the SL cup...

Giannis Antekompompo folks!!!!!!!

What a waste of genes. As a Pakistani man, I have the natural God given ability to do your taxes...or fix a computer....I can't imagine what I would do if I was a physical specimen like this guy, loving basketball the way I do.

The fact that I had to make this thread a day after we drafted him and no one cared to make one yesterday.

I dont think I've ever seen this in 20+ years on here. If we get a player in the draft, he gets his own thread. Period. Usually we have more than one person making a thread out of excitement.

I feel like there is something going in psychologically with this forum. It's not normal.

Also, with regard to NYKMentality, I don't know if it's just part of his twitter gimmick, but he is angry every single day over Thibs being fired and the positive NYKMentality we used to know no longer exists.

He's not wrong. The wind is gone from my sails. I'll judge based on the final product, but I just don't see a scenario where the Knicks improve after this. Hope I'm wrong.

i don't have high hopes for him given how raw he is.

it sounds like he's kind of just a super athlete that doesn't really know how to play basketball yet which would make sense if started playing basketball really late in life like siakam or giannis, but apparently he's been playing since he was a child so idk. i guess that's the kind of player available at the end of the 2nd round. hopefully he's just a really late bloomer

Not expecting him to play on the main team, likely ever. But at where he was picked no problem taking a shot he develops.
