Has Masai been any good the past few years? Feels like he's more of a familiar big "name" than the hot GM candidate he once was.

What bizarre timing. He will be hoping a fresh start rejuvenates him cause he’s been **** for a few years.

Re: ATL - Kyrie 3/$119 million extension
Masai would be a good get.
People talk about ascent and promise in GM careers like they talk about player careers, and I don’t really get it.
Players decline, because their bodies can’t do what they want to anymore. GM’s don't decline because their mind can’t do what it used to, unless they’re spitting up food at the dinner table like Grandpa Walt. The notion that the game passes by GM’s who have had recent success is weird to me, too. Yes, if you’ve been in the game for decades that could be true, but the game hasn’t changed that much in the last 6 years.
His shtick is finding long dudes who can defend, but that’s still a worthwhile bet. Mogbo looks really promising from last draft. They have decent talent on their roster, but they are missing a number 1 option.

I don't care that his track record hasn't been great the past few years. Masai is still one of the best at unearthing talent/NBA players on the margins (Mogbo, Shead, Boucher, FVV, Siakam, OG, Terence Davis, etc.). Think that's exactly the kind of skill set we need right now.

I think going against the grain to take Barnes over Suggs and sort of by drafting Dick over the other guys that were available there were both nice picks, but I think most of the stuff they've done post-Kawhi has been a mess.

Re: ATL - Kyrie 3/$119 million extension
I think Masai could be like a Bud type guy for us who after a seemingly near complete void in any real leadership in the front office could come in and create some sort of culture there. Whether he's a guy who bats a thousand or anything, I don't think he is and really there's not many of those out there but I think he's good enough at his job. Would assume he'd come in and clean house, which at this point I dunno, I'm not opposed.

Masai would certainly be better than the alternative... Doc being moved to POBO.

Kind of similar to Lopez, Portis, Trent, Green, KPJ, PatC, Tucker, Rollins, Beas, etc.

I don't think signing already established NBA players on 1-year vet minimums is similar at all, but ok.

Raps have been as mess
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

No doubt a team is going to pursue Masai due to the Giannis connection, which is why we should be the team to pursue him.

If we're making a move to appease Giannis the better one is to simply bring back Thanasis.

Re: ATL - Kyrie 3/$119 million extension
If the Raps really thought Masai could bring in Giannis in 2 years he'd still be there. Giannis going to the Raps because of Masai has been talked about for years. It's overblown and always has been.
