People up in arms over the 47th pick in the draft is so funny. At that point in the draft half the battle is finding guys who are willing to even try to play for you vs just signing a 2 way with another team as a UFA.

Bogoljub sounds like the name of the club Ricky Ricardo worked at in I Love Lucy.

He played in the Hoop Summit this year, if you want to see him get after it with elite prospects.

I think whether he becomes a player in this league will depend on his defense, ability to put on weight, and not becoming slow after putting on the weight. He's still so young. It looks like he has the shoulders to put on weight. Once he puts on the 20-25 pounds he needs does he become too slow to slide his feet as needed in the NBA? The combine numbers may be poor, but the tape shows he can move his feet, but what's the likelihood of that after gaining 20-25 pounds. That's the question I have and that may be why he dropped post combine. The reason why he is worth the pick is because he is already productive (points, rebounds, assists) and he has a high motor (and really, really likes basketball). If he can make his body more like Dirk or Lauri and move a good amount afterwards then I think he will have a long NBA career, which would be great for where he was selected.

Wait. Can second round picks be busts? Whatever. You know what I mean.

Didn’t you call this pick like two months ago?

They don’t get to compete against the best in the world, you don’t get to directly involve yourself in their development daily, and they aren’t getting the same weight room and PT work.

It worked swimmingly for Jokic on the same club. We back doored it w/ Ersan in the past. Tried him early & he wasn't ready. Then iirc we needed to compete for his services on the NBA market when he came good cuz it was his 2nd NBA contract (incidentally, Ersan may be the best optimistic comparison for Bogo).

Between the Adriatic stats, being near 20, adding a bit of weight lately, height/shot combo, & fundamentals; I don't think he's miles away. But w/ still being slight & a clunky fit w/ Giannis ATM where Bogo would likely play the 3, we likely need time. Summer league against bigger athletes is going to tell us something if he's undeniable and he needs to start here. Would evaluate him almost solely on the halfcourt. He's gonna run the floor.

On really efficient shooting. Although his plus minus was bad.

I think he puts up numbers/stats pretty easily (as he is a good shooter, passer, and has a high motor for rebounding etc) the question I have is can he improve on the little things, mostly on the defensive end and add weight while doing so. I'm looking forward to his development.

I wouldn't say I'm up in arms about Sears, I just would have preferred somebody else. I'm never going to really complain about giving a 1st team AA guy a chance.

I keep watching this video. There's no question, he's super skilled. Some of the passes he makes, especially some of the behind the back ones, he makes look so effortless. Shooting stroke is nice with a strong base and he's always active offensively either setting screens or trying to establish post position.

There is a security level when you don't have a silver spoon wannabe senator leaking **** to make himself feel cool

"If a player on our board falls 15 spots from where projected, we plan on taking him."

Yeah, you wouldn't want that kind of master strategy to get leaked.

I think passing highlight videos often overrate dudes' ability there, but he does show some pretty good anticipation and accuracy on some of those looks. I especially laugh when it's a big guy just running a basic 2-on-1 fast break and finding wide open cutters underneath the basket and everyone's like "this dude could be the next Jokic!".

More Aldama and less Poku and I think we’re in business with this one. I like it.

Whatever moves we end up making this summer, the upcoming season is pretty much a gap year however it's spun. I'd rather have Markovic on the team, practicing with and against Giannis and other NBA players, getting some PT and learning the NBA game. He'd play more if he stays overseas but I think he'd learn more and develop more with the Bucks. ETA: and Herd.

I know the East should be wide open, but I'm surprised by the amount of angst over moves we make to compete this upcoming season. Broadly - not just this thread. I have eyes set on 2026-27, personally.

And I agree with your overall point, too. I don't think stashing players is a very beneficial practice.
