He brought us back to respectability, our organization was looked at like a complete joke before Masai.

i think some fans took it for granted just how much he actually won on a team that american nba players do not want to play for.

Yes, grumbling about this or that notwithstanding, Masai's tenure here was pretty awesome.

We've had him for what, just over a decade? And in that time, we were a perennial playoff team, made it to the ECFs for the first times in franchise history and then broke through and won a title. Totally changed the culture of basketball in Toronto.

I am sad that he's gone. He's one of those guys where you could disagree with whatever and then be like "ah, but what does he have in the bag next to fix this?" There was a level of trust in his drafting, in the way he was working the team... we grumbled, but knew he was going to do SOMEthing.

I have zero faith in whatever Rogers brings next and I'm unhappy that Masai is gone. I thought after all that smoke about Atlanta disappeared, we were in the clear. I thought that after they let him draft, we were good. And then... this.

Ugh.

Thanks for a great run, Masai.

I am two years away from being two years away from being OK with this.

The title was magical, but ultimately I can't thank him enough for the passion and the legitimacy.

Yes, the Raptors were completely transformed under his tenure, but Masai's impact transcends basketball. There's his tremendous contribution to the world of basketball with Giants of Africa, but for me, beyond anything else, I'll forever be touched by his "believe in yourself, believe in your city" speech. That mentality shift, and the perception shift that came with it, has changed this city forever.

Masai didn't just bring us a championship, he brought credibility and relevance back to the organization. We went from being a joke that nobody took serious to one of the most respected organizations around the league. Players, analysts didn't know **** about Toronto but they all know who Masai Ujiri is. I'm so upset man

Brought this city its first championship in like 30 years. Such an inspirational leader. Brought the Raptors team to respectability. Such a huge loss for our team and our city. F Rogers.

Thanks for everything Masai, I didn't think I'd ever see a championship in my city. Lifetime moment walking down Yonge St at 3am night of the game 6

Whichever team he goes to will be my second favorite team.
Would be hilarious if he goes to a team like the Wizards and wins them a championship before us.
In Masai We Trust :meditate:
