Might make sense to trade him for Gaff than let him walk for nothing. Here we go.

IMO just trade Gaff for Reaves, then use that $5.7M to sign Clint Capela to play backup C along with Kai Jones.

Reaves is better than DLO

I don't want to re-sign Reaves at 30M per. And I don't think Reaves iuitz the playoff. No, unless a third team is involved to give you Herb Jones.

Lakers would still want more.
I have no idea why we would entertain the idea DLo, he brings nothing

41% from 2P, 31% from 3P with no defense at all. To be sure, I'd rather have Westbrook.

I prefer to play Brandon Williams and bring back Exum. Not to 5M deal, though.

I would take that deal for DAL. Monk would add a lot of dynamics to the backcourt with Kyrie out and also be able to play with him when he gets back. Can sign Exum after to add a little more steadiness.

Yea in Sac we saw the lineups that had 2 of Lavine, Demar, Monk together have some success, when all 3 played together it was a disaster. We are stuck with Zach, and looks like probably Demar as well.

We are pretty much screwed at pg anyways.

Sabonis/Jval/Maxime
Keegan/Martin
Naji/Nique
LaVine/Demar
Keon/Carter

Wonder if Sac can get away with running Keon at point with 3 other capable handlers in the lineup.

Stein says he expects that $5.7M contract to be signed on the first hour of free agency.

This feels like a pre agreed signing with AD or Kyrie talking to DLO or CP3. It's not tampering if it's player to player.

I don't want Reaves. Stop.

He is an overrated no defense player, a poor's man Luka. I mean a really poor poor poor man Luka.

Mavs are running out of roster spots. CP3 said his priority will be family this time, so it's hard to imagine he would want to play in Dallas. But it's still possible. I am mentally preparing myself for DLo :-?

I still want Exum back. I know roster spots will be an issue but he's a solid 2 way role player that can play 3 positions.

Hoping we can dump Hardy or Powell to make room for him.

Yea I really like Naji and the swag he brings, but this is a deal Dallas should do. I am absolutely against trading PJ for Monk, but if we can do a 2 for 1 where we also remove Nico's guy Martin from the equation, I'll applaud it. Monk is not a PG so I'd really hope Kidd could be a real coach and tell Klay look its not in the team's best interest for you to start right now, maybe when Ky returns.

I don't want to rely on Dante Exum another year, he simply can't stay healthy for and NBA season.

We need available players.

I like how you think. I feel like every year an important guard goes down with prolonged injury. Getting kinda tired of that. I also want more freedom for B.Williams, he became seriously good.

Based on their college stats, the new 2 way players could take on Exum's minutes IMO.

Dallas Mavericks 2025 Trade thread -- Roster and Cap

Miles Kelly from Auburn got the other 2-way contract for the Mavs. Looks like an interesting prospect. He’s can definitely shoot and he’s got good size and is pretty athletic. He will have to show he can play defense though.

If by some chance that Ace Bailey holds out and declines to play in Utah. Do you think Dallas trades for his rights, blows it up, and just build around Lively, Flagg and Bailey?

Windhorst is reporting that he didnt board his flight to Utah today.

Ugh, another knucklehead in the league. What could possibly go wrong for him or the team that has him under long contract. I wouldn't risk it.

I love the idea of what daoneandonly suggested the other day. Trade AD for Jaylen Brown, that would be an insane team.... But we know AD is not going anywhere anyway, so :dontknow:

I’d rather not. The Mavs need “team first” guys. Ace Bailey sounds like an entitled brat who’s never been told no. I’ll pass on that type of person. He’s come in to Dallas and be upset because he’s not starting over Cooper Flagg.

On another note, I've read up on Ace Bailey's agent. Yikes. No thanks.

Naji Marshall for Donte Divencenzo? Feels like a trade that could benefit both teams
