Some guys don't always get measured with shoes on at the combine. Just add 2 inches to their heigh to adjust for their shoe lift. McConnell is probably 6'2.5 in shoes and sears 6'0 and Alabama just rounded it up to 6'1.

Both are listed at 6'1 at basketball sites. If these are the measurements without shoes, Sears' no is probably rounded up and TJ's rounded down. But the argument doesn't change. The same career pathway if he wants to see floor time.

Or basketball sites got unvetted information sent from schools that fudged the numbers or the sites guessed based on old information. The combine is actual height at the time of the draft and there is a 2 inch difference you can't ignore. It's not the be all end all but two inches at that height matters.

McConnell measured 6-0.5 at the combine. He's like normal small PG size. Sears is a midget. It's not disqualifying but like Ron says, his path is narrow.

Aside: McConnell also has the smallest dang hands. Literally the same size hands as my 12 y.o. son. Literally more of an outlier on the small side than Giannis is on the big side.

We have not yet seen Sears not being able to hang physically in the NBA at least, unlike Ty-Ty before we acquired him. And Sears at least has strength + athleticism. Ty-Ty was much taller, but still didn't have any physical component to gain advantages relative to opponents.

IDK why anyone would be excited about players from mid 2nd thru 2-ways. They're the true lottery picks. Just have to make some better bets w/ reasons they pan out. W/ Green it was shooting & strength. Sears it's that + athleticism, to hopefully overcome being much shorter.

Not that it really matters for the NBA, but Ty Ty Washington was never a 1st-Team Consensus All-American either. He was pretty nondescript his 1 year at Kentucky. Sears meanwhile has been everything to Alabama that Brunson was to Villanova (aside from the NCAA Titles) during his collegiate career.

As we approach free agency on Monday, i wanted to repost this. This time, it starts at the point where it's KPJ against mostly good defenses on the final stretch and includes playoffs. I'm not going to give any agenda, i just forgot about some of these plays and was floored by the raw potential. Enjoy

yeah, granted the odds are against him due to his size, but you can't just write everyone off because of low probability. you give them a chance and let the chips fall. but this kid has heart, so that's something.

His chemistry with Giannis in the 2 man game was what I really liked.

I like that high shooting percentage in the backcourt.

Hopefully the coaching staff and team takes SL a slight bit more seriously this year. Last year was a disorganized clown fiesta and kinda portended the year to come.

I know he is short for the nba but he has skills him hitting those 10 3’s in the tourney game showed he can shoot I don’t care about career averages this kid has a drive to get better and that’s all you can ask for in a young player. Like I said before it won’t be his height stopping him from being a good player it’s not hitting open shots because with Giannis he is going to be open.

The Horst hate on here is wild to me.

He's won a title and kept Giannis in MIlwaukee long term. What else was he supposed to do?

Everyone on here clamors GMs to make big trades and bring in guys to help their stars. Horst has done exactly that repeatedly and now everyone's mad at him because we don't have any picks left? Huh?

a potato GM could have kept the most loyal player in the NBA here.

Is this another gamer word, or do you mean actual potato? Because some of his headshots resemble a potato.

I’m really asking if we can cheese with that potato.

Yeah, KPJ is a must sign. Entering his age 25 season, coming of 21/7/7/2.3 per 36 (.616 TS) season with us, offers midrange and transition ability, and competent defender.

It's baffling.

You get Dame and for 2 seasons him and Giannis can't seem to figure out their 2 man game to save their lives.
And then out of nowhere KPJr comes in and he has the best chemistry with Giannis since Middleton.

Is it Dame's fault?
Is it Giannis'?
Is KPJr just better at it?

Don't know but I want him to stick around to find out, lol.

Yep, this is priority #1.

I don't really see the risk in it either. If he flames out for some reason, the Bucks are already relatively screwed from a cap/asset perspective, so who cares.

Really, resigning KPJ is the type of move they have to make.

I want to get excited about Sears, it's just really tough to find sub 6-foot guards that have flourished in today's NBA.

Every single year we look like the most disorganized team in SL. I don’t expect them to look like prime Spurs under Pop. It my goodness, they trot out there like a YMCA pick up game every year

I do think Sears and Markovic are the kind of players that are gonna be fun to watch/put up numbers in Vegas at the very least. Part of the reason our SL teams have been so brutal to watch in years past is that guys like Andre, Marjon, Livingston, and AJ were never the kind of players whose games/skill sets ever translated well on the court when they're asked to be the main offensive guys.

Sears is exactly the kind if guy who should be suited for SL.. If AJ were any good, he should have too. Athleticism, playmaking, creation. If youre a guard and you dont have enough of those to look good at SL then its a bad sign.

Sears is gonna rip
