It's been a particularly ugly 6 game stretch, but also, you're right. It's June and they're still in first (or maybe tied).

Canning might be out for the year, but I haven't heard an official announcement yet. Injuries happen in baseball. Hopefully the depth and maybe a trade deadline deal will be sufficient.
It's a long season and it's still early.

He's definitely out for the year. Just had the surgery to repair the Achilles a few days ago. At this point it's unknown if he'll be ready for spring training next season.

I wish the Yankees had a pitcher with the name Dickey Lovelady

I remember you thought they should sign him. I listened to the stat nerds at Amazin Ave who said he was due for a decline based on closer examination of his stuff and how hard he was hit.
I guess nerds don't know everything.

He pitched well tonight. Those three bleeders in the 6th hurt him.
Nice to take a series. But who starts tomorrow? My buddy told me that Blackburn is hurt now too.

I'd only be guessing. Butto? Waddel? Hagenmen? Hamel, if they do a 40 man move, or maybe McLean if they want to be bold and start his clock early.
At least we're going up against Stroman tomorrow. He's been awful this year.
