next year... 3s? ha

he was shooting 3's with the Clippers ! it's in his repertoire, but for now the game plan never leads him to take some. But def able to make some 3's !!

He shot 1/2 with the Clippers over two seasons. Not exactly shooting a lot of 3's.

good for moose. thats a tough roster to make.
probably shuts the door on the tiny chance he was gonna play summer league. it was a 1% chance.

Diabate was a lone bright spot last year and is a really good defender by the metrics, Charlotte really needs him

I really love Moose for basically everything that isn't offense. I kinda see him developing like a new age Bismack, where he's a world class rebounder, but subs out rim protection for a much more versatile defensive game for a big.

But I cannot buy Moose being a quality starting center in this league, he's just way too limited offensively, and is pretty undersized to boot. I like him as an impactful ~20mpg energy backup, nothing more, and nothing less.

--

On a different note, I think he's a wonderful fit next to a stretch big, something we still don't have somehow

DITTOS. Great value and love having him, do not trade him. But, our primary center, and with the starting unit? Not a good option.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Moose can run the floor like an antelope (yes), was one of the best offensive rebounders in the league last year, and one of the only centers in the league that can effectively guard 1-5. On-off stats show we will be a better defensive team with him taking Mark's minutes. Mark was absolutely getting abused by opposing bigs so despite Moose's stature we're giving up nothing down low defensively - if anything we improved there. Mark was a lob threat, low post clean up artist, and rebounder but a clear negative on the other side of the ball.

I 100% agree that solidifying the frontcourt/center position has been a big missed opportunity so far this summer, but also agree the sky ain't exactly falling relative to last year's rotation. We've basically swapped offense for defense (Mark to Moose), decided to gamble that Kalk is ready (he does not appear to be), and a bit of a wash with Plum/Nurkic.

moose will make everyone forget about mark by december. he wont put up the empty stats, but he'll be much more effective at impacting the score.
plus, i predict moose takes a small leap on offense

I know posters have been hoping he develops a 3 and that would be a great luxury to have, but if he could just add a reliable 15 footer to what he already does, that would help a lot. He had some sick dunks last year from putbacks and off the pnr, but if he could provide just a bit of spacing, look out!

I don't think his improvement on offense will come in the form of a jump shot. But I think we started to see some improvement with him putting the ball on the floor and attacking. There were several times last year where he used a Euro step. I think he'll improve his handles, finishing at the rim and I think his ability to put the ball on the floor and his ability to pass on the roll will look better. I'm not expecting a jump shot. But that would be fantastic.

Not sure he starts right off (see: Mark in his rookie year with Plumlee around) but the FO's got plans for him. Hope he develops into someone like Cody Zeller at least, someone invaluable for the offense without needing to score in bunches.
