I just traded it for Whitmore!! Damn it! Give me my pick back!!

The fact it’s likely to convey is what I feel comfortable the FO is going to trade it. After the Mavs did them dirty I think they are even more averse to holding onto these conditional picks.

Washington is full of vets needing new deals. They are not gonna tank willingly.

Trust me...they are definitely tanking. Those vets are going to get dealt or released by the deadline.

Washington is bad no matter how much youth they've added in the recent drafts, so I'd say the chances are low.

I remember when we said that and the Knicks got the 8th pick with Obi and Randle was here for like 4 more years. I don’t think they make the playoffs but I also think there is a legit chance they aren’t bottom 8th.

With that said if a team is open to trading something of more solid value for that pick, the FO should 100% move it because they need solid value.

They got some competent players in... CJ, Olynyk, Brogdon and Khris Middleton are good vets to have to stabilize the locker room. Plus getting rid of Kuz and Poole probably helps a young team get focused on good habits cause those two definitely didn't seem to care. They can sneak into the play-in for sure with the east losing 3 star players to injury.

IMO they should buy low on DeArron Fox. Fits in bucket with the shooting on their roster

My opinion is in no way influenced by the knicks having Washington’s pick with top-8 protection

CJ, Middleton, Olynik and Smart are UFA next season. They have to play and stat pad to getting their next contracts.

The odds are low.

But this season Wizards were terrible and they got the 6th pick.

Also just read from Windy that the Knicks held back in KD trade talks to pursue Giannis.

both jayson tatum and jaylen brown have a different role on their team than mikal bridges, so when i said mikal bridges was a pretty poor 3-pt shooter, i meant for his specific role.

you also really can't compare the 3 point shooting of tatum and bridges straight up and get an accurate comparison. mikal bridges is mostly a catch and shoot 3-point shooter that will occasionally take a pull-up 3. on the season he shot 37% on catch and shoot attempts and 26% on pull-up 3's. jayson tatum takes a mix of pull-up 3's with the occasional catch and shoot 3. on the season he shot 40% on catch and shoot attempts and 33% on pull-up 3's. tatum in the bridges catch and shoot 3 role would be a much better shooter even though he shoots at a lower % overall.

https://www.nba.com/stats/player/1628369/shots-dash?SeasonType=Regular+Season

what herb jones, mcdaniels, the thompson twins, etc. have over mikal is elite defense. they really don't even have the same role as mikal because they're POA defenders that guard 1-4/5 on the court. i think the best comparison role-wise to mikal that you listed is trey murphy and yeah he wouldn't cost anyone 5 picks

I didn’t want to compare the players. You’re complaining but you have no point. That’s all.

Yea I fail to see the sense in any of this. Tatum takes different types of 3pt attempts, and Herb+ the Thompson twins are elite POA defenders but can’t shoot for shyt. Murphy wasn’t tasked with guarding out of position at POA all season (or hit by the most screens in the league while playing the most minutes in the league)… so what’s the point here exactly? Also, how do we know he wouldn't cost 5 picks? Bane was just traded for 4 picks and two good players… a starter and solid 6th man.

What are we doing here?

Point is, statistically, none of them are better shooters than Mikal Bridges, yet I read about his shooting all day everyday. He has been a good defender, too. We have a good player here and the others aren’t perfect either, that is my point. I’m not comparing him to Tatum, I’m showing that he’s doing okay.

Tucker + WAS 1st for Whitmore could work...

 You never know. Lowkey Durant got nobody on that team and PJ is one of his best friends. And a first for Cam Whitmore isn’t a crazy ask and in line to what we hear they wanted before for him.

And PJ could be kind of a Brooks replacement as well as vet bench mentor
