Who is the long term money we are sending out?

Wiggins has a player option next year.

Which is why I wonder who they meant by long term money? It’s either 1 or 2 seasons for Wiggins. Who else are they trying to trade here that has long term money?

That’s an LA reporter, they’re not sending any long term money just expirings. The hold up is that we want a 1st while we’re “technically” sending out long term money with Wiggins

You're a cheap date. You're taking on two backups on expirings and trading away your starting two guard. So your offense gets worse for two guys who shouldn't start for the team if the Heat hit on Ware and Kasparas and you only get two firsts in return? And you're getting older for no reason. Raise your standards no matter how much you don't like Herro's game and potential extension.

Yes, I am moving on and selling high while we still can from the overrated guard that only some miami fans care about and aiming bigger by accumulating draft picks that i can later package for a star player.

Brian Hartline was a top receiver in the league according to dolphins fans. Tannehill, Chad Henne are both franchise qb’s. Hell some of yall say Tua is a franchise qb   you kids and your white knights…

You can't attract stars if the team is bad no matter how many assets you have. Star players don't join teams that they have to save. If you don't have good players on your team you're not getting any stars. And with stars not named Dame having near total control of their potential destination this hypothetical star that you're drooling over isn't gonna see Miami devoid of any running mates and say "trade me there". So trading Herro for expirings and picks does nothing.

If you want an OG, Trey Murphy. Dejounte Murray level player you can trade Herro for expirings and picks. You can pry a player like that from a team with the assets you get back in a Herro trade. Those players can't control their destinations. If your goal is to acquire the best player on a title team you better provide teammates that they think they can make a run with.

LeBron and the Lakers say hi, technically you can even make the argument about LeBron and the Cavs second stint.

Windy backs the Giannis stuff, says us, the Knicks and Spurs held back so we could bid for Giannis. I guess we’re praying Giannis wants Miami only because the Spurs can **** on our offer.

You want to get into Lakers exceptionalism? They just got Luka. Very few entities in the history of sports operate with the sort of "things just work out for us" type of attitude that the Lakers do. LeBron goes to the Lakers and within that season Anthony Davis wants out of NO. I'm sure that was just a coincidence   and not planned from the second LeBron decided LA was his destination. If the plan is to operate like you're the Lakers that's no plan at all. The Cavs in Lebron's second stint had Kyrie already cooking and a plan to trade Wiggins for Love.

Funny you use the LeBron example. LeBron wasn't coming here unless Wade was staying. In fact he wanted Wade to join him someplace else.

Long term money these days is anything more than a year given how constricting the cap rules are. You don't want to take on deals longer than a year unless you feel confident about your roster situation.

My bad.. I see how that reads wrong. By “they” I mean Heat, and by trading “here”, I mean in this deal.

Proper English should read “Who else are we trying to trade in this deal that has long term money?”

Oh ok, well basically what crossover said. They’re considering Wiggins as “long term” money because he’s very likely to opt in. The only long term money we have on the books right now outside of Wiggins would require the Lakers to send back several assets (outside of our guys still on rookie deals but that money is marginal)

“Long term” is a misleading term to use in this tweet. Two years is not “long”, but I agree, in the new CBA, it can be a problem. I still think it’s twisting the words to make our expectations in the trade seem unreasonable. I doubt they want Wiggins on a one year deal. They probably hope he was locked for two, and the team option makes it less desirable as he could technically walk after a year.

Yes to Cuminga - but only for Wiggins and only for a short deal with a team option. Worthy gamble on a 22YO.

No to Lonzo ball

NO to Vucevic

We're not getting Giannis - don't start that chit again
