Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

Not sure I fully agree but that sounds like a really good solid role player..

He's getting way too much criticism IMO. He's actually "playable" unlike half of our bench last year. Not saying he's a starter or even a 6-8 man..but at least he shoots when he's open knows how to play. If Tatum weren't out this season, I'd be totally fine with Niang being his backup 4.

Niang is my least favourite player in the league. Welcome. I’ll leave it at that.

Niang is probably the Celtics starting power forward as of June 25th

He's averaged 76 games a season the last 7 seasons and 9ppg. Whether he starts or not he'll be reliable.

Even his skills video, supposedly compiled out of his highlights, sucks! My eyes bled trying to watch it.

Well, he's the all time leading scorer at the Tilton School, which also produced Nerlens Noel, Terance Mann, Wayne Selden and others.

Good shooter, savvy player, dawg mentality, good track record. Happy to welcome him to the team.

Re: Welcome to the Boston Celtics, Georges Niang
I like him as a bench player and he has a bit of a mean streak, which I think we need.
Good assessment:

Georges Niang's 3 pt percentage per season since he started getting minutes :
.410
.400
.425
.403
.401
.376
.406
Clockwork.
Not the most spectacular player or the guy with the most versatility position wise but he can play, there's a reason he keeps getting minutes on a bunch of good teams.

Consistent 40% 3-point shot, plays tough. Not a top tier player, but certainly a role player that gives a good effort, and is productive. What's not to like? And we need someone to play the 4. I hope we keep him.

If the finances allow, I'm on board keeping him. The fact that other teams' fans tend to dislike him is a good thing.
That said, if flipping him lets us bring Al or Luke back easier, or duck another imaginary $ line, he gone.

Heard the stat that he has the highest number of wins of any nba player over the past decade between his time in Utah, Philly then Cleveland.

Re: Welcome to the Boston Celtics, Georges Niang
I remember him from Iowa St back in the day and he was pretty good. He has had a decent NBA career.
Georges Niang can help this team. The key to that is the Australians. When they put even 5 lbs of muscle on him and drop 10lbs of fat, he will be a better player. Look at what the Australians have done with Kornet.
He can be like a Grant Williams type of player. About 15-18 minutes off the bench, he will surprise some people with his play. He isn't going to win a dunk contest anytime soon, but he is a 40% 3 point shooter for his career and is a decent passer and can put the ball on the floor at times.

What did the Australians do with Kornet?!?

At 1 assist and 3 rebounds/game?
And Rico's the poor man's Luka!
(Given current Celtics realities, should we maybe call that "Bill Chisholm's Luka"?)

2.4 and 5.8 / 36
Jordan Walsh > Lonnie Walker and Charles Bassey
