I mean we all knew their flaws when we traded for them. Was this always their plan, to trade these 2 because that's all they could get for OG? I thought it was said IQ was a great fit besides Scottie, despite his flaws?

I thought we were pivoting away from only wanting 2-way players or defenders to getting offensive skillset and live with their defensive flaws?

By the way, Darko isn't exactly a defensive savant. The kind of players we're drafting aren't exactly like his kind of personnel. Are these moves foreshadowing a shift away from Darko? Is this Darko's last season?

To me, Quickley is the only reliable shooter on this team. Similar to Poeltl, you gonna have to come up with an actual viable replacement before you trade him away.

People do realize that bobby has been the gm for years right? He’s the guy making these trades not masai…

Not only that he shoots 3s off the dribble and makes tough shots… you can’t replace that intangible aspect of shooting. Guys like dick and battle are merely catch and shoot guys.

This should not be that difficult.

I’m on board with this.

Garland should be the target.
In Masai We Trust :meditate:

I don’t know that bobby is the gm and the gm is the responsible for making trades? Bobby is the one that made the kawhi trade

So we’re making ourselves more undersized?

we need defense. You're just asking scottie to run around for 30+ minutes defending guards

His contract gets better and will be well worth it by year 3 onwards

It gets better but I don't think its worth it for a 6th man typa guy. And I don't see him as a starting PG that's gonna lead us anywhere.

Don’t know why people are so low on IQ.
He actually played pretty well after returning from a major injury.

Give him a full season before giving up on him.

I think he’ll excel as that 3rd guy. Ingram and Scottie will create a lot of wide open spot up opportunities for him.

I rather Barnes start at PG than him.

Dalek wrote:The message I heard from Fisher was that they will continue to add talent, so at least there is that. It could have been a case where we are shedding salary and attaching draft assets to do it.

Salaries:
Barrett $27.7
IQ $32.5

Option 1: Sabonis + Monk
Option 2: Ja Morant + KCP
Option 3: Ayton+Jerami Grant (Toronto would need to add Agbaji in for matching purposes)

all 3 are terrible

he averaged 20/7/5 per 36 on above avg efficiency. good impact stats last year offensively. He's fine as a starting PG. Not a star but a fine starter

Bobby about to be unleashed

He’s about to go crazy with the trades now that he’s the final decision maker

Per 100 is usually a more "respected" projection stat, per36 is not a great indicator. But overall his defence has been pretty crappy, he's overpaid until he proves otherwise.

per 36 is fine for starters imo. its not great for bench players obviously. we held down IQ's minutes last year in our half ass attempt to tank

We'll soon find out based on the moves what Bobby is really made of because hes gotten very little credit thus far in his career.

I would do IQ for Jrue straight up.

Jrue will love mentoring Shead and Martin, and use the Celtics and Bucks as teaching fodder.
