It just goes to show you where we are as an organization and where the rest of the league is.

You have a great VP in Masai for the Raptors get fired. Thibs, Malone etc while AKME and Billy get extensions.

Jerry pretty soon the casual Bulls fan will figure you out and the cash cow will start getting skinny.

We need to get the Allstar game back in Chicago. It woke them up last time. :D

He had a good run, until he didn’t. The current Raptors build (result of several years, kind of triggered since letting FVV walk) is about as aimless as ours.

The Kawhi rental was also a quirky, bizarre, lopsided trade that happened by lucky timing, and they barely won that ring… Durant and Klay both tore ligaments in the middle of a finals series.

Just think it’s fair to call things as they were. He would hardly be considered great if a few very lucky breaks hadn’t happened.

Masai is living off his reputation IMO. He's made some awful moves fairly recently, like trading a FRP for Thad Young in 2022. Even the current Raptors team is an expensive mess that doesn't fit together.

Yeah. The one move I didn't get was the O.G. trade to NY. I liked Quickly, but O.G. is a stud 2-way player. He and Barnes were probably the 2nd best F pair in the league.

I suppose they didn't want to pay him, but they ultimately paid Quickley and RJ more combined. If Masai traded OG a year earlier, he probably would have gotten a deal similar to what the Knicks paid for Mikal.

Some awful asset management by Masai recently.

Pretty hard to tell who us a good and bad GM. Fans tend to base their views on one or two decisions that could have broken either way.

Presti doessem to be an exception to the general rule .

I'd take Masai over Arturas Karnisovas.

I guess you can buy some Ayo social media love by going on his podcast. I've been burned by off-season hype too many times to believe anything until I see it on the court next season. But others should feel free to feel good.

I remember when Patrick Williams was on the USA Select squad and Erik Spoelstra gave him praise saying; ""He is set up in the future to be a great two-way basketball player, to be able to defend virtually everybody on the floor, whatever your scheme may be." At the time I thought "Maybe PW has more potential than I originally thought."

But..nope. I was fooled. Haha.

If Matas already builded up his frame, body whatever to NBA standards, then he is even more suitable now to play power forward with his size and defensive instincts! I feel Bulls will f... him as they did Markannen or PWill (instead of playing SF and having body for it, he bulked up to be stiff slow PF) putting him at wrong spot, if moved to SF.

Wow. Good news about a young player’s development from a real insider (Ayo actually played with him this summer), and this board responds with three super negative comments. You guys should just give it up. It sounds like there are more trolls here than fans.

Matas definitely needs to get stronger, but he doesn’t need to become Giannis, in fact, he shouldn’t. One of his greatest strengths is his combination of height, quickness and agility.
Why so serious?

Yeah, that's why I like him slotted at the 3, just to keep him from going all Lauri.

Lauri never ever ever had the perimeter skills of Matas in his entire life. Lauri was always just a skinny tall big who could dribble in a straight line. Entirely different players.

Golden State offered Kuminga $7.9 million. Now that's a team that won't bid against itself.

lol really? Where did you see that.
KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?
Gar: I never said that and correct me if I'm wrong.
KC: You were asked that question at the news conference announcing Thibodeau's dismissal and you answered yes

That's Kuminga's qualifying offer amount. Basically a formality to retain his rights heading into restricted free agency.

Golden St is in such a weird space with Kuminga.

It reminds me of John Collins in Atlanta. Atlanta really didn't want Collins, but they did as an asset. They reluctantly paid him because they still traded him a season later.

That is how I feel about GS and Kuminga. But in this case GS really doesnt want to pay him because of apron tax.

They want him but not really. They don't want to pay him but also dont want him gone for nothing.

They basically want someone that can help the team compete for a title, while not locking themselves in long-term to a team that cant win.
