Rookie yr vs rookie yr?

I agree with this because Scottie was a six man, change of pace guy on a veteran team, while CMB was surrounded by weak talent that was facing double and triple teams and teams fully gameplanned for him.

That said, Barnes was the Montverde highly touted prospect who was one and done, versus CMB who was the unheralded guy who fought to make himself into this making a huge leap from year one to year two.

When does he come to town for media intro?

Wonder how he's feeling about Masai?
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

Excited to see how CMB does with the team. It going to be fun watching him and Scottie on defence.

CMB was Websters pick....Obv Masai prolly also liked the pick but this was 100 percent Bobbys draft....We will see how it pans out for us long term....No way Masai picks the players Bobby will be working with for the near future while hes the GM.....

Masai still played a part.

Took part in pre-draft scouting, conducting interviews, player interactions during workouts, etc.

Yes, in the end it was Bobby's pick. But Masai believing in CMB and calling him a special talent adds to my conviction that we got a real prize from this draft.

Ey... coming in peace.

Anyway. We just drafted a dude in 2nd round that 99% of us probably havent even heard of in Penda.

So when we deep dived into him, i swear he reads like CMB. 6'7/6'8 heavy longboi wing that cant shoot but loves to bully on defense. Plays undersized 4/5.

Anyway since you guys probably backgroundchecked CMB to death and probably mentioned Noah also... can i ask whats the difference between the 2?

Hard to compare guys from France to NCAA statistically. CMB's stats were pretty outlier

The more i watch CMB the more i don't get the Mogbo comparaison, they're clearly two different players. Mogbo has a lot of defensive tools and almost zero offensive tools. Even defensively, even though he has a lot of potential he doesn't have CMBs IQ, strength and physicality. Offensively CMB can really handle the ball for his size, you can even see him cross over guys at times and finish with either hands. He's a tank and can finish through contact no matter who's on him. Shooting wise, he's way ahead of Mogbo, his makes actually look good, he just had things he needed to get rid of in his motion and he already said he's been working hard on it. All you want from a guy like that is to hit open 3s at a reasonable clip, i think he'll be able to do that sooner than we think. Can't wait to see him at summer league.

monumental difference in finishing, cmb is also a better passer, ball handler, defender, shooting upside... he's just better.

I dont think this is true. Masai asked to stick around until after the draft because regardless of how incompetent MLSE and Keith are, he still cares about the Raptors to set them up for success with the best prospect possible. Otherwise there would be no need to have Masai around for the 3 weeks he knew he wasn’t coming back.

CMB is good at perimeter defense, but Mogbo is special. Both are good passers, unsure who is better. CMB is better at almost everything else and younger.

So the idea is that he developes into a Draymond Grenn light? If he become 75% of what Green is/was it will have been a fantastic pick.

There's comparison between him and Mogbo. CMB could be a star if he puts together a mid range and 3pt game. Mogbo is an elite POA defender and that's it. If he gets a better shot maybe he'll be something.

Not sure why “for his size” is used in reference to CMBs handling, the guy is built like a wing… he’s 6’6.5 barefoot so probably like 6’8 in shoes… he’s basically Scottie Barnes, og…

Penda's not a big on-ball scorer or an elite one in the paint like CMB projects to be. He's also more grounded than CMB imo. Slower, less athletic. CMB has more tenacity (dog) in him.

Noah's better as a connective passer. I would say closer to Mogbo than CMB.

Mogbo with a shot = elite 8th man..could work his way up to 5th man depending on how good the shot is (e.g. big athletic Bruce Bowen)
CMB with a shot = all-star
