Gonna be a long weekend pretending agents aren't already talking with front offices. Love when free agency becomes "official" and there's just a flood of news.

this team's management is a joke. i don't know who they think they're doing an effective pr job on by saying "well we may have gotten blown out by a garbage team in the 9/10 play in game, but we ARE bringing all the major guys from that team back, and we even get to fold in guys like patrick williams and jalen smith (who both played in that game)"

CLOWN SHOW.

It’s pretty clear. Team doesn’t matter. Just money.

Yeah. I'll say that it may also be true that he knows this because they've knocked on every door and there were no deals to be done. The guys they likely wanted to trade (Vuc and Pat) could very likely have had no takers (combination of lack of interest in the player and/or his deal).

Yea im guessing that if those guys aren't moved this offseason, its moreso because they suck and nobody wants them, especially Patrick. I can MAYBE see a team interested in taking a flier on Vooch, because atleast hes not a gamble moneywise being that hes a $20 million expiring so he isn't detrimental to a teams future transactions.

But Pat at 4 years and $72 mill remaining? good luck. Paying the Portland pick to get off him would be getting off easy.

Also dont forget everyone... If we trade Vooch, that also means a $20 million player is coming back in the deal (thats likely equally trash). I'm fairly A-OK with just letting him expire or buying him out after the trade deadline. Only problem with that is, we all know that Billy will continue to start him and play him 35 minutes a night just because, when it was painfully obvious that the team performed ALOT better on both sides of the floor when Vooch was out and Zach Collins was getting his starts/minutes. Billy needs to grow a pair and make him come off the bench this season.

Think we're in for an uneventful summer, while I don't think anything big will happen ideas I like include:

Trade 1:

Chicago in: Reed Sheppard and Jock Landale

Houston in: Coby White and Jevon Carter

Rockets need a shooting guard following their Durant trade, Coby is a pretty good one (better effeciency than Green provided).

Bulls gets Sheppard who's got 3 years left on his rookie deal and a backup big man, which will be key for the following idea.

Trade 2:

Chicago in: Harrison Barnes

San Antonio in: Nikola Vucevic

Just a shuffling of expiring mid 30-year olds.

Spurs have Sochan, Bryant, Champagnie, and johnson across the forward spots but don't really have center dpeth. I think Vuc provides that and could play with Wemby some too.

For Chicago it's forward depth

Free agency/MLE:

Re-sign Tre Jones.

Roster:

Giddey/Jones/Dosunmu
Ball/Sheppard/Terry
Huerter/Williams/Phillips
Buzelis/Essengue/Barnes
Smith/Collins/Landale

There's your 15 for the 2025-26 season.

that man is not a reliable source

generally if the person does not actively work for a recognizable news outlet they are just an aggregator/speculator/account trying to pump up their own notoriety + get twitter revenue

Problem with Vuc is - nobody wants to pay anything anymore, AK missed and f...up the opportunities and offers , BUT also you have to play him, to keep hope alive and his average expiring vet worth up to trade deadline and even then its questionable if he will be finally moved for something. AKME waited too long as usual..

Regarding PWill - trading him now would be huge mistake, lowest value ever.. play him, get him one more chance and up his value if possible. If he finally picks up, you maybe get 3&D borderline starter or someone who can be traded for something decent not others team trash..

Saw that, $25M per year and 5 years too. For a bench 3P shooter who is a bad defender.

Giddey for $30M is a no brainer. At least he starts.

I agree it's a lot of money but Naz Reid is not a bad defender. Just because a big isn't a shot blocker doesn't mean they can't play defense.

The rationale I have on the Reid front is that MIN wants to ship out either/both Randle and Rudy and have Reid pegged as a starter. IMO he has #2 option potential, and that price factors that in.

What if Houston threw in a couple of second round picks? AKME could then flip them for cash considerations. Would that change your mind?

Obviously all of these are posted with take it with a grain of salt. The internet has been around for a while, we all understand how it works now.

AK has consistently overrated Vuc's value and probably continues to do so. I doubt any team is willing to offer more than 2 2nd round picks and I bet AK is holding out for a first or a decent player. Vuc should feel honored - he's playing for his #1 fan.

AK screwed us when he refused to trade Vuc to the Dubs for 2nds at the deadline. Now with a strong draft class for C’s. No one wants him.

The biggest error is play style and development. Vuc slowed down the development of our play style and is the security blanket when we need a bucket. We need to see how Buz and Giddey get their own shot when Vuc is t there to bail them out.

Even if Vuc rehabs his value we are still stuck with him and wasting 50 games of development with his offense bailing us out and his D slowing us down.

I still think Zo Will be enough to trade Vuc and get some highly protected pick in the future.

 yeah , thats exactly what they would do..

But on serious note, I want better package for Coby than just bench undersized SG guy and backup center

14M is MLE.

Wonder if a dumb team like the Kings pays that.

AK probably won’t trade Zo unless he gets a great offer. I can def see Tre leaving.
