3 hits for Gimenez and the biggest walk of the game. The luck is changing for him.

Berrios with a great outing, much needed for the over-used - and micromanaged - pen.
The Sox aren't looking so good.

Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

No, but Kirk, Clement, and Vlad should be.

Red Sox offense is yuck
The Devers thing is a disaster. Perennial top-10 hitter, 28 y/o, under contract.. cornerstone player gone

Bregman and Casas missing makes it even worse.
Also, I think Vlad has some work to do to be an all-star over Torkelson and Aranda this year. But he likely gets in. Clement is behind several guys having even better seasons st the plate at 3B. I doubt he gets in. Kirk should get in as a backup behind Raleigh.
The pitching staff should get a much needed rest that weekend I would say…thanks to Hoffmans struggles the past month .

The Red Sox had swept the Yankees, gotten the third Wild Card spot, and were playing their best baseball all year the day they traded Devers. I know it was a salary dump, but I thought they would get a lot more than two struggling pitchers and two low-level decent prospects for Devers. An offensive talent like Devers (three time all-star, two time Silver Slugger), do not grow on trees.
Red Sox offense definitely not the same. As a Jays fan I will take it, since the way the Red Sox were playing at the time of the trade, I thought they could have leapfrogged the Jays eventually in the Wild Card standings. The timing of the trade was a head scratcher. Devers thought everything had cooled down between the two sides, and the focus was on baseball. Apparently not from the Red Sox front office and ownership.

Yea I read some stories after about the backend drama that had been going on for months. Apparently Breslow is also a menace behind the scenes and their front office has a ton of issues.

Bassitt has gone full headcase mode here in the 1st as he is sometimes prone to do. I think you might have to pull him, this game is still winnable at 3-0.

It's done now, he never got it back after the Toro AB. Gotta leave him in for the full 100 pitches.
