Lonzo must have requested a trade. The trade checker on this site does not allow the trade to work. Maybe they have Lonzo's salary too high.

Cost controlled draft picks are good options AKME. Keep blasting them media.

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

I'd l'd like to see Jones re-signed now but I think he'll get $13-14M and I doubt we go there.

The Bulls signed Ball to a two-year, $20MM extension in February despite trade interest at the time. He’s on the books for $10MM this season and has a team option for next year.

Meanwhile, the Bulls are taking a flier of their own in obtaining former No. 5 overall pick Okoro. The Cavaliers didn’t re-sign Okoro to a multi-year contract until September of last year after he became a restricted free agent following the 2024 season.

Okoro’s playing time decreased in new head coach Kenny Atkinson’s system, and he averaged career lows of 6.1 points and 19.1 minutes. In the playoffs, Okoro’s averages shrunk to 4.6 points across 14.2 minutes. He’ll be in the second year of the three-year, $33MM deal he inked with Cleveland last year. This year, he’ll count for $11MM before his contract jumps to a guaranteed $11.8MM next season.

They probably haven't updated the salary for next year. With next years salary of 10m the trade will work.

So yes this is another sh*tty straight up trade

AKME is basically trying to take up a bunch of guys coming into the prime of their careers who are on bargain contracts. Its an interesting, never been tried philosophy but Okoro has been bad.

Going a little with this, if you look at most players they peak right around age 27. They usually suck from age 18 to 22. AKME is trying to play a statistical game of putting together a bunch of 24 to 27 year olds and hoping it works out.

I don't think AKME is a good GM but I'll give them credit for trying something unique.

What a DUMB trade.

Maybe the tank is in play.

Watch AK outdo himself by trading Pat with the POR pick to get an even worse contract.

It’s def this.

The only hope is Okoro excels in a pace system unlike Pat.

This also seems like it will be forcing Billy to play big with Giddey at the 1 and wings at the 3 and 4. Otherwise where does Pat and Noa play.

Okoro can play PF. I’m sure Billy will find mins for him there.

I think they could have got a better deal. This strikes me as a complete reach on Okoro. I'm not sure why any team needs to pay Okoro and PWill $29 million a year. Its the same guy.

Could this be considered a "stealth tank" trade to get worse for next year? Or would Lonzo being here and only playing 40 games be better for the tank?

The particulars of this deal are mundane. What's exciting about this trade is that it looks like a precursor to a Pat trade.

Here’s to hoping…

Even if it was it’s better to keep Zo let him be hurt on the bench and then not pick up his option next season.
