Its not an either/or.

We don't need Ant slowly bringing the ball up court and always having to go against a set defense. And no one said make him a spot-up shooter - you can still create your own shot after receiving a pass. In fact, its often easier because the defense is in recovery mode.

And sometimes a guard can still spot up after bringing the ball up the court, which is what happens when Donte and Ant share the floor. They can absolutely play together.

They can play together, but it should be with a PG facilitating.

I'll just make one post to state I agree with those who don't want Ant dominating the ball and pounding it for 10-15 seconds looking for openings. We need a PG to facilitate and hopefully that's Dilly. Nobody should have the ball more than 5 seconds at a time or so. Sure some exceptions, but as a general rule.

Can somebody clarify the timeline AND financial implications:

1) we drafted Beringer standard (rookie contract) and Zikarsky (two-way slot and contract)
2) re-signed Reid, which means only one Randle or NAWcan be resigned without going over 2nd apron
3) if Randle opt-in MIN will be below 2nd apron, but no room for FA?
4) if Randle opt-out MIN will have full MLE?

So what we expect next: NAW sign-and-trade or Randle news? I guess Garza and Minott are gone?

We aren't looking for starter but backup that don't turn over the ball and feed the Bears.

Top priority given the financial restrictions this team has right now would be Tyus Jones signing the same type of deal he signed with Phoenix.

High assist to TO ratio, high IQ, handles well under pressure and can shoot the 3

After all, I prefer his brother Tre Jones game much more for one simple reason: Tre is an elite finisher at rim. We already have seen what happened when Edwards is double-teamed and Conley could not score at rim. Plus Tyus has starting PG ambitions.

I dont like Sexton, Coby White at all. Neither from skillset point nor financial implications. Tre Jones or Tyus for 8-10 mil is IMO a fair price.

IG we can, i would go for Tyus. He is back home, can start or play significant min and we keep space for Rob to grow. And even without NAW, we remain a contender.

Tre is younger, better defender(I think), not as good a passer as Tyrus. Yes, either would be great given our cap situation. Tre is better fit if we want a starter.

I know a ton of names have been thrown around a possible options at PG in Garland,White,Sexton,White...ect but what about Alex Caruso ? He's on a $21M deal and the Thunder will have to think about the roster moving forward once Williams & Chet sign there extension.

I was thinking of Divincenzo/Dillingham for Caruso.Gives the Thunder to players for the price of one which would help out there depth moving forward while letting other players walk and would give the Wolves a 2X championship PG still in his prime thats a defensive stud to help control the offense while not overshadowing McDaniels & Reid on the offensive end that should have bigger roles.

I just wish Tre could shoot.

But I guess he wouldn't be available if he could.

If Dillingham is in the rotation, I don’t think we need another rotational PG. Conley and Dillingham should be able to cover 48 minutes. We could probably an emergency PG.

The problem is I don't know if he can and not betting on it. So it's Conley+New Guy. If Dilly steps up, it's Dilly+New Guy, let Conley be the most expensive assistant coach :D

I agree with that. If you have 3 point guards, someone is getting squeezed out of the rotation. The question is how much faith do want to put into Dillingham.

I hope a lot. I believe in him. Time will tell.

Taking the team’s potential future core as currently constructed, does the following lineup realistically look like a championship lineup?

Rob, Ant, Jaden, Naz, Joan

I feel like Ant would still have to do so much with that lineup.

Joan and Rob are not necessarily core pieces. One or both could be moved for a better fitting player if they can show consistent growth. Jaden is the worst utilized player in the NBA. His mid range game is potentially DDR level and he can do a lot at the rim or going downhill towards it. Sure his handle is an issue, but that doesn’t change the fact that could easily be a 20 PPG scorer while also playing elite defense. Naz needs to learn to play defense or to find a scheme that covers for his defensive flaws. Offensively the big question is with consistent starting minutes can he bring consistency to his shooting (especially from deep.)

Don't know if credible but seems like a logical conclusion. We don't have the money to keep NAW and has been reported and the rumors for the past season. While clearly we have to upgrade at the PG spot and also would like to cut some cost in terms of payroll with our new broke owners(poorest owners in the NBA) so to do that you main assist to accomplish that goal would be Gobert,Randle,DDV & Dillingham.

While not the biggest fan of Randle can see them picking to keep him over Gobert as he should be a few million dollars cheaper per season, a little younger but most of all a much bigger threat on offense.

There’s a pretty big hole at center if we trade Gobert. I can’t imagine either of the guys we drafted this year are going to be ready for major minutes. We’ll have to have a plan to backfill the spot.

I just don't see why we would trade Rudy, and keep Randle/Naz. Our defense would be horrific.

I agree with everyone else. NAW is gone. Might be a s/t but limited teams have trade exceptions that big since we can’t take salary back. Atlanta does though and they could be a destination. Otherwise, he’ll just walk in free agency in all likelihood.

Trading Rudy doesn’t make a lot of sense.
