We've done well with exhibit 10 deals in the past. Last year it was Battle.

We arent keeping RJ, nor do I want too.

Atleast Whitmore has more defensive + overall upside.

why would the Rockets want RJ? They just traded for KD, and already have other high lotto guards that they want to give minutes to. Also, Whitmore makes $3.5M while RJ makes $28M. Making those salaries work in a trade is highly unlikely.

No, you don't keep both unless they are willing to sign for very reasonable deals. Neither is a solution at C longterm, they're just the options we roll with right now to field a roster that can compete. Assuming Ayton doesn't suddenly put it all together and make us want to re-sign him (unlikely), his large expiring can be used in a consolidation trade later, or worst case we pocket the cap savings.

It's not as if we think Ayton is some great addition but this is the position they've put themselves in since they can't really make any FA signings right now due to their proximity to the apron and there aren't too many available Cs that fit into RJ and/or IQ's salary slots unless they're gonna use Gradey or Ochai as trade chips as they give you access to guys lower down the list like Goga, JV, Richaun Holmes, Jock Landale, etc. And then you get into Dwight Powell, Jay Huff territory.

I can't not support our guys and team but this recent decision has really made me think about boycotting this team if I'm being honest. Only time will tell, but if Dan and Bobby also leave I'm not sure how well recover from that. It will be like the previous years before Masai came in.

Assuming Ben Simmons has been humbled, huge assumption, who here would take a min contract flyer, because that’s all the space we have, on a mobile 6’10/11” point C/PF with a 7’ plus wingspan?

He was on a minimum this year, so it’s likely he’d take another to play back up big on a team that hopes to compete. We know he can’t shoot but if he accepts he’s a passing big rather than a PG we could likely live with that given all our second unit shooters i.e. Gradey, JaKobe, Ochai and Battle!
