This is just salary related. Ball is an expiring (club option) and Okoro has two years left. They also shed a little over 1M for this year.
They would have to be certifiably insane to go into the season with Lonzo as the starting PG lol

It would lead to some fun highlights.

As for Lonzo, specifically, I can’t imagine a bigger injury risk in the history of the league, than giving him any guaranteed money beyond the minimum.

Kendall Marshall maybe!

It’s always a precursor to them trading for Giannis somehow

A Horst home run pick gets paid. Former Mr. Irrelevant of the draft. Even the trade that sent him out was a hit getting Grayson in return.

I still like Mamu as well.

Good for both parties, really. He’ll be making less than pat next year assuming it’s a normal contract.

4/40 for AJ would probably be a steal

FWIW, Vecenie broached this exact topic as a hypothetical, iirc in our offseason preview, and he said he'd pay more for Merrill than Green. This helps us as a precedent, if anything. Would price Green more at 4/32 or 3/25 if shorter.

Reid's a tier above Bobby + younger. BKN may have used some of their space. And Minny said they were prioritizing Reid, so he's a projected starter who they can justify 25 to long-term. Not much of a precedent for Bobby. Almost every team couldn't/wouldn't go above MLE sans s&t.

Glad Ace made it to Utah, looks happy. Even though Rutgers didn’t wow me, hopefully he does well there. Just a kid.

Sam Merill..Utah St pay day.

Sam Merrill's gotta be the best last pick in the nba draft ever?

Was just gonna ask if this is the framework for an AJ deal. Might be prudent to get it done sooner than later. Giannis as the point in the gap year could mean numbers for AJ and dollars.

Isaiah Thomas was drafted 60th to the Kings. Sam is definitely up there though
