Why even give them extensions if your planning to clean house with new president, rumors are they all got 3 more years. Sure they don't make 15 mill but if you're unhappy with v direction, there is no need to give contract extensions to team your don't particular like direction, even if it's "cheap". It's cheaper to give none, it's not like having gm at this point with a roster that's full and no space is going to hinder us in the short term over the next few months.

I would have cleaned house myself (as I am certainly not a fan of the team's direction and I don't know how much Bobby can be separated from Masai on that front), but somebody has to run the team in the interim while you're looking for a long-term president and it's not like any of those extensions will be an impediment going forward. Can't say I have much issue with it.

They are a crapshoot. If they weren’t, the Dodgers would win every season easily and nobody would even care. That’s how much better that roster is than every other team in the league.

And the Jays have objectively been a top 5-7 team in baseball since 2020. It is inarguably their greatest run of success overall since the early 90s. FOs generally don’t get fired when they are producing the best results a franchise has had in 3 decades.

Their time is undoubtedly coming soon though and I will relish in it when it does. Has nothing to do with results however.

The problem is with how poorly it was handled, how they had no answers to any of the difficult questions, and the ridiculous timing of it all. But all this isn't surprising given the history of the nepo baby owner.

I don't see how it was poorly handled or bad timing at all. Masai clearly asked to be allowed to work through the draft once they agreed on an exit plan and Ed obviously obliged.

As far as the press conference, I haven't watched it but you're never going to get anything of note there from a corporate guy like Pelley covering for his boss. There's really not much to be said anyway. We all know why Masai's gone. It's because of his contract and this organization's lack of performance of late and they're obviously not going to tell the public that out of respect for him.
